haha. i can call everyones car slow because it is the internet and my god given right.
this is true
So basically NEWMAN and Zerodaze would spend their time and money making their own Bullet proof kit for the same amount of money making more power etc… And when the day is all done they can’t even get the car on the road 'cause you can’t register and inspect the car due to the modifications they did, and the APR car is easily tricked into passing inspection.
x…
P.S. Not that I’m one to point this shit out, but we all see that Newmans $20K deep so far project is working out great. Purpose built car, looks like shit, and more than likely will get beat by plenty of other cars on the board built for less money.
i wouldn’t start with an OBD2 car to begin with.
yea, pretty much, but it will be faster
there it is…
alright you are on for spring 2006, since my slow vw is away for the winter.
i love how newman knocks vw’s and thier owners for being rice (more about style) and trendy (going with whats in)
stylish and trendy would be a good way to describe who?
N_WM_N
wanna buy a vowel?
I KEEED I KEEEEEED
can i get an “I” ?
the stg3+ kit is a gt28rs. The highest output on a gt28rs VW/audi is 365Whp help by Chris Boyd of baltimore MD. Commonly the gt28rs doesn’t put over 320Whp at 25psi.
the stg3 is a gt28r. - i’ve never seen a vw dyno more than 287Whp.
Lets do the math.
GT28rs = $1150
Petey-Pablo Log Mani w/hardware = $295
FMIC = $650 w/piping
injectors = $200
fuel pump = $150
Oil lines = $100
ATP DP for GT28rs = $400
Random shit you’ll need cuz you didn’t plan = $100
Software = $600-1000
Total: $3645-4045
now… its not that big of a difference. The manifold is flow tested etc on the APR kit, and i’m sure will work better than more hand-made log’s. Everything else is fair market price. Software is ridiculously expensive… but thats cuz people pay it to not have to deal with IMMO3 etc…
yes, APR does NOT pay market price for their shit, so they’re making out. But not having to piece anything together, and getting piece of mind is worth the $1500 if you’re a baller, and those power limits are fine with you.
So you couldn’t do it? and all this was just a way to pass the time? [majorweaksauce]
X…
euro rice /= stylish
??? /= trendy???
i don’t think i am that trendy either… i’m sort of a mismatch of semicurrent and out of date styles. With a little bit of my own stupid twist.
but stylish? you bet your ass.

Reminds me of someone else who had a :snky: hatch that had to sell it to get out of all of the ridiculous debt he built on credit cards, funny how these $2000 projects never remain $2000 projects after you buy the first round of parts :mamoru:
not couldn’t
i just wouldn’t
i am sure i could, but it’s not really worth the hassle.
But the whole argument has been about a DBW OBD2 car, and you said you could…
:word:
So the Free kit is worth it after all, Hmmmmm…
X…
see above.

ehh, this is only half true tho. last year it made 410 whp and i had under 14K into it, including the car. I could have pushed for 500, but i didn’t because i didn’t want to waste time on tuning when i was planning on getting rid of the stupid emanage. Then the oil seal in the turbo blew and i thought it was a good time to upgrade. Then i lost all motivation.
I have a question. Are people running faster than 13’s on street tires with these kits on VWs?
If not, Newman’s stock STi > this
yea yea I know his sti took a dump…
anything free is always worthwile. didn’t we cover this?
:lol:
Gee, that sounds familiar. Funny how it compares to an off the shelf kit you can install in under a weekend on a daily driven car that’ll last for another 100k.
