5 posts need...4 to go.

welcome:beer:

Welcome, Ben. I’d like to see the '59 Olds. Wild looking cars, as with all '59-'60 GM cars.

Ill have to look up the pics I took of it after it was repainted. The 74 and 59 got body work/paint work 2 years ago and sat in the garage last year. Been too busy with my business to play around with them:(

There is no way in hell the 96 GTP is getting an L67. Its the most solid w body I have though so I may keep it for a 3900 swap or if I get more business this year…2.8 or 3.6 VVT DOHC. drool!

Guru though? I dunno, obsessed would be a better word:)

Those are the pictures before it was fixed up. Still looking for the new pics. You can see the brown 74 in 1 of the pictures (and me in the background, oh boy).

what the fuck! 5 posts and I still can’t make a reply!

seriously, thats more disappointing than being told I need 5 posts to post what I wanted to begin with.

Ok, well someone just point out that in order to program a computer to CNC port any cylinder head, you have to hand port it and test it. Also, most places that CNC port heads start with aftermarket cast heads with thicker walls, designed to be custom ported. Stock castings, especially the ones I deal with are not something you could easily setup for CNC porting.

Hand porting still has advantages over cnc porting but for the money you are better off doing CNC work on a large number of heads and then finishing them up per application. Its almost the same theory as saying x head is good for y application when you really have more than 1 application you are trying to market for but its not “optimal”.

Calling people names or repeating yourself isn’t going to educate anyone on cnc vs hand porting. I have considered having some CNC work done for heads but in te end I can do it by hand AND check my work with a flowbench and ccing for much less. The more experience I get, the easier it is anyway. I don’t have the luxury of aftermarket support for cast heads. We are lucky to have the possibility for a new cast manifold.

Thanks.

I understand you need 15-20 minutes for the site to refresh & then you can post in the other forums. Try it now.

It’s so ugly, I love it. It needs bagged & some 20s & 22s.

haha, it needs some big rims, that I agree with. It looks better with the body work and paint but its still a land yacht. 18 feet 3 inches long I think. It barely fits in the garage.

Thats cool, ive heard some bad things about the LQ1, but who knows if their true.

move on to the other forums!
