The front end sucks. You can see the wideglide in the background that I’m trying to convince him to put on. I verified the wheel he has will work.
The same, they made awful bikes.
My shovelhead is an AMF bike.

What is the advantage of the wide glide front end? He can run a wider front tire? Or it just looks better? Not being a Richard, just curious.
I just think it looks better. It would be very similar to the second bike walker posted.
Am I the only one that doesn’t hate the springer? A new headlight bucket and removing the front brakes would be nice… but you said he’s a newer rider. Front brakes may still be necessary, lol.
I thought the front-end looked pretty cool and vintage… I little bit of modern look to the front end wouldn’t hurt, but I wouldn’t say it looks bad as-is.
looks like a springer tho - bleh. just too much going on up there. needs normal forks IMO
I will agree that the ‘normal’ wide glide front end will be a better fit, especially with those covered rear shocks. It’ll look good.
If it was a vintage springer it’d be cool, but it’s from a 90’s softail… The problem is the headlight can’t really relocate to anywhere else because of that damper on the springer… idk… I just think the WG would be better. I’m going to at least throw it on to see how it looks.

A few updates.
Shaved the wideglide and installed it. Looks a zillion times better. Also won a peanut tank and put it on for the hell of it. Looks a lot better. I’m really feeling this. Needs a speedmaster front tire. Getting closer. Had to weld riser bosses onto the bars because the spacing on the WG wouldn’t take the risers. I bent up this micro sissy and I’m kinda feeling it. It’s not attached to anything right now But I think it sorta looks cool.
Oh yeah, I also redid my garage since I have so much more room since I sold my BMW.

Way different. I like the AMF tank but that one fits well.
