if I could justify 680.1 Hp, and 740 lbs of tq, would that win, and only spend 5300.00

silly boy, use vortec heads and a lt1 cam instead of 1.6 rockers. i paid 300 for my heads and 10 bucks for the cam. that’s 20 cheaper than the price you gave for rockers and the heads alone will make twice as much power as the 1.6 rockers. and use the tci street fighter over the B&M

true but a vortec TPI base manifold for 400 will be needed to fit those heads… else need a new manifold setup and thats not smog legal for this event. lol

if they fit, i would be running them already. lol scoggin dickey sells them new, refinished with springs for cams up to .550 lift! for 600 bucks the pair of them! thats a good deal on a budget head that makes power.

but i agree, i should add a cam in the mix and really make some good power. if i include dyno tuning then might as well add the cam. hell, a hot cam can be bought for 100 bucks or so i think. new cam is only 250 anyway for the roller motors, so thats not a bad bet. thats extra 30hp there.

what is the lift on your cam now? i have one siting here you can have. it’s a stock lt4 cam. you can have it.

and if you look hard enough, you shopuld be able to find the vortec tpi base used. then just skip the new tires and find a used set, that will free up the money for the intake… i paid 20 bucks for my MT et streets. decent tread left.

there was posted to see how some ppl would spend 6k. and 6k total includes purchase of car and etc. orr89roc got the idea of it. and everything has a cost to it even if from a junkyard. fair prices or going rate of prices on things

what is the lift on your cam now? i have one siting here you can have. it’s a stock lt4 cam. you can have it.

my cam is 207/213 duration at .050 and .415/.430 with 1.5 rockers.

i think it goes to .435/.460 with 1.6’s. LT1/Lt4 is around that

but if I put a cam in this thing, it will be bigger than those cams to go with the LT1 intake i’ll be running. but i dont really wanna spend money on this 153K bottom end. i need a fresh 383. LOL

i paid 2700 for my lt1, i think thats a better base than a mullet car . the heads that are on them are decent enough to port to get a good gain, buy a used cam and a 150 shot. thats 2700 + head porting another 150 and the nitrious for 550 used cam for 80-150. thats a 12 second combo for under 4500. o yea and some stickies. port the intake yourself that leaves you atleast a grand to spend on other things to get you into the low 12’s like headers and maybe some gears etc.

I’d buy a 1g AWD DSM for ~$2500, probably with some mods already on it.
$500 on maintenance BS puts me at $3k.

i never seen them that cheap but hell if you could find it then it would be a whole lot better to start with. it already has a intake that flows like mad, and the heads are alot better than L98’s.

there is one out my way for 3500. i bet you could take it home for 3 or less.
