i have a set of 89-90 white face gauges… they are the same as the ones like this

how do you modify the needle so that it’ll read over 180km/h?

you dont need any modifications… all you do is slip these over your stock gauges.
mine are actually in mph with the smaller kmph numbers. and the only difference is that mine dont say nismo, but they are identicle in every other way

So then the calibration on them is off? If it’s going to read to a higher speed, the sweep of the needle has to change, or it won’t read the right speeds.

^^^…yep…then you can scare your gf’s and make them cry in your n/a powered car.

I dont get it so what will be off if you install them ? the speed or RPM? stock 240 is 8,000 RPM these say 9,000 so would that be off? and the speed…how would you fix the problems?

i dono man i didnt have any issues with these in my car… who really cares if there speedo isnt 100% accurate, and i dont really see how they make a difference if you just slide them over the stock ones anyway, so its not like u have to adjust the needle or anything, its just a new background for the needles pretty much.

the speedo will be 100% Inaccurate - when ur actually going 180 kmph , it will read 240kmph on ur cluster.

So can I tell that to the police officer when he pulls me over?

“Oh it’s ok, my spedometer isn’t actually functional anymore, it just looks pretty.”

How is it not relevent if your spedo is not accurate? So I’m cruising along at “50km/h” and really I’m doing more around 20… Personally, I like my spedometer to tell me exactly how fast I’m going.

the tach will also be off if you slip this face over a KA tach

the numbers on the tach face are lined up for an SR tach
