This is my 1990 300ZX. I got it for assisting in changing the engine in one of those fake 200SX’s (2 door sentra)…sooo, I have nothing invested really.
It will be a major budget (TT) build.
The engine…was destined for my 86T. Its going in this now because I miss my SOHC anyways. I traded a VG30ET I had about $1000 in for this low-mileage super clean VG30DETT…it has a brand new lightweight flywheel and competition clutch rated for 500ft-lbs, never run on yet.
All I got was the car…the VG30DETT and such I already had from my Z31 project…

Stock as stock can be for now. Budget build to ~250whp or so, then I shall see how low-budget I can be with upgrades too. Goal is a decently quick Z32TT for minimal spent.
I see one filter so I’d assume he’s going single intake. No need for dual intake until 500hp-ish engine power. A single can flow enough. Dual might help response marginally though.
Sure you can do it, but the stock MAF isn’t capable of metering that much air after about 500 with the VG30DETT. It’s just not as accurate. And I’m not sure how much air a Z31 motor requires compared to a Z32 motor.

PS, what are you going to do about the front bumper? Cut holes for the intercoolers or get a different bumper?
