will a 300zx engine fit into a 240?
i dunno but i think SR’s fit. anyone confirm?
ive seen pics of it done…very tight. Thats all i know.
yes it will find heres a link with s13 with a vg30dett http://forums.nicoclub.com/zerothread/187589
Anything can be done if you have the skill or the money.
how much is a good deal for the engine ecu everything??? is 150 a good deal? although it does need some head work but thats it!
a z31 vg30det or a z32 vg30dett ?
a z31 vg30det isn’t worth the metal it’s made from, so don’t bother.
what about a vg30de?
a z31 vg30de ? which is why I would assume is only 150… is worth that, 150.
but again it’s a totally useless motor, it old, its slow, and it’s not worth the metal its made from. putting a turbo on it would be more money than its worth, putting it into any car aside from the one it came out of is not worth the effort.
don’t bother.
ok but if its the va30ddett then buy it up?? soo this won’t be any faster then a ka-t?
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a complete z32 vg30dett for $150. if you can get one, then go for it.
I’d think KA-T would be a heck of a lot easier…
Speed depends on the amount of boost you’d run and a ton of other factors…
ok i’ll let u know!
It’s toight like a toiger! :lol:
hahahaha

a 300ZX engine is childs play
VG30DET = Japanese Z31
VG30DE = Japanese Z31/Z32
VG30E = North American Z31
VG30ET = North American Z31
Apparently the North America didn’t like the idea of dual overhead cams for the VG in the Z31. And for a full VG30DETT, minus a FEW components, you are looking at roughly $1500.
I have a 1990 Z32 VG30DE NA, for $100. :shock:
Heads need to be machined. basic rebuild…
Tranny is sold…but can be yours for $200 (sold it for that much, guy hasn’t come for it yet…so i can reimburse him)
you forgot the rb20det and vg20et, but who needs a puny 2L when the 3L+turbo makes so much torque
yeah the engine was a vg30de no turbo but it did come with everything !!! and some extra 300zx parts ! but the head needed some work!!! i think i’d be better off putting the 150 bucks he wanted towards a turbo for the ka-t

I know, but when people refer to the “300ZX engine” by name, they probably (9 out of 10 times) mean the VG30XX.
On that topic though, a 200ZR would be a nice candidate for an RB26 swap.
