I have been mulling over the idae of throwing a VG30DETT into a S14 that I am going to pick up. I am curious, if any of the members on here have done this swap, themselfs or had it done by pro’s. If so how much would install be? I am asking now becasue it is the weekend. I will be incontact with Autodream, and JDMsource trmw, for pricing.
Also what goes along with this swap? FMIC, and motormounts… What else? Also how well is the aftermarket support for this engine, I know it wont be as good as the SR.
Thanks in advance for the help! :partyman:
Those are freaking big engines. I hope you dont plan on working on the engine bay yourself cuz there wont be any freaking room.
It has been done. And it sits pretty far back too, which is always good.
Finding someone to do the wiring, getting custom motor mounts possibly, etc.
Its pretty uncharted waters and probably would be a bitch to do yourself.
But good luck if you decide to! :partyman:
there are sooo many smaller engines that make more power and are alot more reliable… that engine bay just looks like junk as well… but if you wanna do it all the power to you… by the time your done you probably coulda swapped in a 2JZ which is way cleaner and more powa
If you’re gonna go to all that work put a smallblock in it. Now THAT is badass.
When anything breaks though, have fun buying parts for a jz, overnight shipping?

Umm the 2jz came in some North American cars. Like the Supra??? #JZ parts are easier to find than RB parts

Because 2JZ’s never came in our Supras, IS300’s, or GS300’s :finga:

okay you guys can argue all you want and i know they didn’t come in IS300’s or GS300’s
the point is its a stupid swap… you could drop in a rb26 way easier… and 2jz’s are way cooler that vg30
why don’t you just twin turbo a vq?? then you would be cool
