Well when you’re modding a car and just have this magical number picked out, but no parts, expect the smart ass remarks. I HIGHLY suggest buy Alex’s (Team Teal 2) turbo kit. It’s been tried and he made 503whp on race gas and the car went 11.6 on STREET tires. Better than most, if not all other Honda’s out there.

91teg, you have to understand we are all taking from experience when we warn you about trash talking with the car that’s not even build yet, or the infamous “Spring car”
We have seen it all, heard it all, and we usually know how it happens. Team Teal 2 (Alex) is actually one of the few cars that got done in the promised time frame. I was planing to be done this year with him, and had all the same parts for about a year now, but here I am waiting till next spring, for the 3rd year in a row.
I have personally met and worked with people who talk about doing this and that, and argue with you furiously when you are skeptical because, well ambisision is a hell of a drive. But as with most of them, I have yet to see anything done. Only way to shut the critics up, is to actually do what you promise, because until you do, the critics are right.
So keep the project thread going, update us with the parts, keep us in check, share your goals, but don’t promise to run somebody with the car thats not finished yet, or expect to not be taken seriously. It is very easy to tell somebody that you will have a 500whp car, it’s very hard on the other hand to get one.
My $2000 build has turned into a $10,000 one, with just a mild goal of ~400whp, just for the motor.
Ask away, thats what we are here for.
Buying that kit would be a great idea for your goal. The question is do you really have the means for it?
Power. Reliability. Price… pick two, the golden motto of any car build.
Let us know how much you are willing or planing to spend, and that would be a start.

If you don’t even have a kit yet, and want a full kit cheap… why don’t you try phoenixturbo.com. (peakboost) You can get a full topmount kit for like $3500 and be making 350 to the wheels if you buy injectors, Hondata, and get a tune.
That is the exact kind of thinking that gets people in trouble, way over their head, and puts projects up for completion a year after that.
If you think that a full kit like that is all that he needs, you are very mistaken.
He would like traction? Yes he would, so add on a traction bar, differential and BFG drag radials, gear based boost controller, no point in power if you can’t put it to the ground. another $1500
Spend all that money and have no way of monitoring the system and having a failsafe? That’s a sin… add guages: boost, water temp, oil temp, EGT (If you want), wideband… looking at another $600
Going to push all that exhaust through the stocker? Didn’t think so… Mandrel bent exhaust 2.5 inch or more… $400
Throwing a kit on a stock block? That’s a shame… build the motor… Rods, pistons, bearings, water pump, oil pump, timing belt… $1500
Don’t forget a slim radiator, walbro fuel pump, cams, cam gears, catch can, intake manifold, and im sure leaving some stuff out too.
And thats just for 400ish whp, if you want 500whp, you should get it sleeved too… add another $1000.
Might as well make this a damn chechlist if you wish.

I would assume nothing, or at least I would hope he purchased nothing as he wasn’t even sure what setup he’s going with yet.
It’s not fun changing your mind, I’m on my 3rd turbo at the moment with non being in the car (14b, T3/T4 60trim, Gt3076R), getting a second set of cams (gsr to ITR), getting another form of gear based boost controller (AVCR to Hondata?), sold my B16 81mm pistons and rods to go with LS 81.5mm Pistons and rods, etc etc etc. Changing your mind sucks, plan it all out solid before you start building.

Are you sleeving or staying stock sleeves? Let’s start with that.
10500 might get you 300-350 hp i have 13000 plus and just broke over 500hp
How many cars come out of Synapse with the stock block making over 300? I sure as hell hope the bill isn’t over 10.5K?
Stock block like Austins GSR I believe are about 5.5/6K, build blocks are a bit more.
