so i just recently bought a 91 180sx and the gas gauge works when it wants from the first day i got it. if i hit a bump or sway the car side to side the gauge works sometimes, then if its working and i do either one of the actions it goes right to empty again. any thoughts? i was thinking maybe a ground problem??
haha mine does the same thing…when drifting the handbrake sign stays on and the speedo buries itself…i find it entertaining
check some grounds at the cluster out…mine were just fine…it could be a faulty sending unit too…
problem solved!
so i took the sending unit to see if anything was obviously wrong with it and sure enough it had no float on it!!
so i picked up a float from reg sumaru and sh-bam! the gas gauge works
