damn thats cheap.
haha 2500 yeah right that might get you the tubo and turbo kit but i doubt it… no block or tranny…
yeah def not 2500, getting the block sleeved was $1400. and a 3 month wait. thats without pistons, rods, valve springs, retainers, new rocker arms, cam, LMA’s, dizzy, skunk2 intake mani… :lol
lol 2600
thats a joke. short shifter… not short throw. it actually hurts you as you have less leverage for the shift… my car, i have a shift arm that is designed for less throw forward and back and side to side, but it uses the stock shift box( cable shift) youre better off buying a needle bearing shifter off Ebay.
Oh trust me they know.
Any short shift will reduce the leverage you have if it reduces the throw. No matter what. Simple physics. It changes the ratio between the shift knob to the pivot and from the pivot to the other end.
*edit, not that i’m defending them, but you’re just wrong to think that’s what makes a short shift better. The reason a short shift kit is better is it’s not a foot away from the wheel or sunken into your center console.
are you retarded? how can you justify that im wrong? you said a cut shift stalk is better because its lower? thats why sequential gear boxes in rallye cars use tall shift levers… they are closer to the wheel and provide more leverage, so why is a short shift stalk better… i cleary stated that short shift is not a short throw… the trow comes from where the fulcrum point is on the shift mechanism be it cable, or rod shift like a honda, its all the same theory. shift stalk height has nothing to do with the distance the shift mechanism travels to get from one gear tot he next.
ok first off my shifter is a short throw shifter io just cut it b.c i like the look of it . . . and i agree with the kid above about the shifter he is right . . .
Hey I just have to say that I like those Prelude wheels on there. Looks clean…
Nice accord, deff stuff an H22 in it.
Swifty, 4000 w/o the head?
thanks fer the comments . . im hoping to do a motor swap in the near future . . . and finish off some body work and then paint the car . . . ill keep you guys up to date
4000 for the motor without the head and turbo?
word, well im not a kid, but thats cool.
hows the ride in that car, looks like it is a bumpy ride.
my bad about that it actually rides really nice fer what it is and i love tkaing tight turns soo its worth it
Cool project, keep us posted… Not too many people mod Accords…
Block and turbo, no head and no IM.
I’m really just eye balling it…I drool every time you say “make an offer”. I don’t have the money currently, but there is a chance I will come into it in the next couple of months.
Wow guy wayyyy to read. when did i ever say that cutting it is better.
So… .do we all know how torque works?
Torque = radius x force
So if your stock shifter has a height from the fulcrum of 15cm and the opposite side is 5cm long. lets say it takes 10N to engage the cog on at the shift knob.
So you are putting in .15m x 10N = 1.5 Newton meters of torque. Then on the other side. 1.5 newton meters / .05m = 30N so it takes 30N to put the mechanism into gear.
Lets change that to a short shifter kit.
lets say the height is 14cm and the other side is 10cm (measurements by guesstamation). So it took 30N of force to put it into gear.
30N x .1m = 3Nm of torque. So 3Nm/.14m = 21.4N to engage it by hand. So it takes more force to engage the the short shift.
For rallying the lever is so tall. Lets say a 30cm, so they move the fulcrum point up to keep the throw from being enormous. In the picture you can move the fulcrum accordingly if you want a shorter throw.
Now for cutting the shifter. Lets say you’re retarded and cut it to 9cm. So the other side is still 5cm. 30N x .05m = 1.5Nm
1.5Nm / .09cm = 16.6N to put it into the cog at the knob.
here pictures. *EDIT so what i’m saying is you CANNOT shorten the throw without requiring more force.
no sir. i am not retarded.
sooooo a couple of days ago i was on my way to lake george with a couple of friends and while i was driving on the northway , i had a seizure and next thing i know i was in a ambulance and being brought to the hospital . . . so i was in there fer 2 days and i went and saw my car and its totaled . . . soo there goes everything everythig i worked on fer over a year. but i guess now is a good time to start over . . . sooo yea just letting everyone know that this project is over and time fer a new one.
holy shit. that sucks dude.
you cant drive for like 6 months now too right?
damn bro… sorry to hear that
