Check the condition of the wiring going to the alternator as well. There are 2 fuses you need to look at one is an 80 amp according to the schematic and the other is a 30 amp. Check that your battery connections are clean and tight as well. Merely touching the terminals is not good enough to aid in charging and will cause a large resistance which can damage the alternator.
