hi, im bueller, and i run 27-28psi, 30r on pump gas, no methamphetamines, k thnx bai.
The Evo guys are known to run 0 degrees of timing, or even -1 at full boost. YES, you read that right.
A little secret…an engine will make the most power on the LEAST amount of octane that it requires so it won’t detonate.
conservative tuning for pump fuel :lol
and yes, find the point of knock, and back it off until it stops. not a hard concept to follow.
im not a huge meth fan, sure i could use it, run my race map all day long, but i just dont want to risk of that pump failing on me. sure my fuel pump coudl die and do just as much damage. but i wouldnt feel as bad.
people always say they just want meth for the cooling properties, and " im not going to tune for it, no added timing" and what happens? they throw a ton of timing towards it and have a 93+ meth tune on the car. then the pump fails. i know this why?? we did that to alot of evos, and what happened?? snow performance pump failed, and the “fail safe” failed as well :banghead
^ car was my roomates FP green evo 8. the pump failed at a 75/25% mix, whatever happened, who knows, lucked out, and only lifted the head, nothing melted… it was approx a 10% fail rate for us, but still, enough to scare me away
Parts can (and do) fail, but in most cases it’s operator error/neglect/etc. My system gets the pump replaced each year, pressure monitering on the nozzles, gets op’s checked before each use, electrical connections per AC 43.13-1B, Chapter 11 (aircraft spec), tank level is visually checked often, etc
well then… I guess…

for me lol
Yeah more people down there should be taking advantage of it for sure.
down there? where are you right now, Nova Scotia?
aquamist is the best shit out there. i had there HSF-1 system on the evo and it was the tits!!!
everything mechanical has a chance to fail. shit ur wheels could fall off.
i have yet to see an aquamist system fail.
methanol effectively slows down the burn while cooling the charge more. more timing and boost and u are
I’m pretty sure with the aem ems you can have triggers or switches so if the pump fails, or pressure in the system drops, the map changes, or the boost is cut.
That’s how the Aquamist failsafe works. When the system detects lower flow, no flow, pump failure, low fluid level, it hits the failsafe, which brings you down to wastegate pressure. Hence me only being able to run .9-1 bar right now, instead of 1.4-1.5.
yeah man, pump seized, this was in 06, car was bought in 05, snow performance stage 2. it was under a year old, things happen. head was checked, new studs, gasket, timing belt. removed failsafe since it was faulted, new pump.game on.
