My 98 yukon has badly rotting fuel lines. I dropped the tank and noticed there are these quick disconnect fitting that conenct to the fuel sending unit. Unfortunatley, it looks like this part is no longer made. Anyone have an idea what the process would be to run new lines from the sending unit to the motor?
I did find some AN fittings that work, but i’m not looking to invest in AN fittings and lines and the tools to make the lines for this truck.
Replace sending unit if thats old as fuck too (or just the whole pump/unit), run some fuel hose over it with the fuel clamps that dont over tighten, done
That’s what i was thinkin g but was worried it may leak since the nipples on the sending unit are plastic, and i might not be able to tighten it much. I’ll give that a go and see what happens.
They sell the gm fuel fittings at most parts stores. One end will have the fitting and the other will either have a barb to fit fuel hose over or a couple inches of metal line with a flare.
do you have a picture of where its leaking? i might have a solution if it was the same problema s my astro van that leaked at the quick fitting connector. they wanted $150 for the line i got it done for under $30.
Actually i think i got it worked out. Found the quick disconnects at advance auto. Used a bit of fuel injector host to some hard line all the way to the front. Just need to have it not rain for more than 5 minutes to be able get it all hooked up.
