My friends car makes a REALLY loud squealing noise every time she starts it up and it’s either cold out or wet. It’s embarrassingly loud, and starts when idling and quits with a quick rev in neutral. It also seems to be affected by the defroster being on.
She claims the PS belt has been replaced and is new, and her fluid looks right. My guess is AC belt.
Amirite? I haven’t looked under a hood in a minute.
Squeals come from pulleys out of alignment. Most likely your tensioner is worn out. If you don’t have a tensioner, the pump might be on it’s way out(if you’re 100% positive it’s the a/c belt)
