A nice weekend is coming up: mid-winter decrusting/cleanups

The good news is we are halfway through winter. The bad news is we are halfway through winter.

We offer this to most of our regular customers who realize that a head start on keeping a car looking good in summer actually begins in winter. It makes it easier for us for those customers who aren’t on our wash plans.

I know a lot of us get caught in a slump of neglect for our cars, some more than others. But we are doing our mid season maintenance for our regulars and considering a potential nice stretch of weekend offering to NYSpeed and friends.

Basically this service is as follows:

  • A thorough de-salting pre-wash and soft handwash
  • Wheels cleaned, fender wells blasted out
  • Undercarriage rinsed LIBERALLY and THOROUGHLY
  • Vehicle dried gently and some spray sealant is applied
  • Interior is brushed and vacuumed and blown out:we try to de-salt the best we can(which is where regular care attenuates accumulation)
  • Hard surfaces wiped clean
  • Glass cleaned

…a basic detail of sorts, but by no means a concours detail - winter maintenance.
This generally takes a few hours - and if you ask anyone, regular de-salting is key to keeping the interior salt free for the summer.

If there is interest, say so. PMs, posts, whatever you like.

General price?

Can’t beat Mike’s work…

I look forward to getting a full detail this spring Mike. I’m also interested in pricing.

Interested.

Pricing will be atypically inexpensive for this as its a non-traditional service for us anyway - probably $70-$85ish for cars, slightly more for trucks/SUVs. Again its a few hours worth of work to plan accordingly.

EDIT: For those who are doing this, contact me as soon as possible please. Balancing more than a couple of cars for something like this including my already booked customers requires a bit of symphonic coordination so I would like an accurate forecast.

Any questions, please ask.

Update - Friday no longer has availability. Saturday and Sunday can be coordinated.

This is continuing on this week and into the weekend as there a lot of extra interest we didn’t anticipate for the weekend itself. Last weekend’s forecast proved inaccurate but that didn’t stop anyone from dropping in for a cleanup because of the realization that regular care shouldn’t stop just because of less than ideal weather. We were able to complete a trailered STI, a regular couple and their color coordinated red and blue supercharged Range Rovers, a new AMG and another Volvo S70.

A thaw is coming(well, if it’s forecasted correctly) it would be a good idea for everyone to get a good cleanup to get them through a few more weeks before spring. For those considering a full detail from us in the spring, this is a chance for us to really inspect the vehicle at the same time to get an idea of work required.

Any questions, please ask.

Accurate forecasting predicted. We are rolling, warm crazy wind and dry roads. Keep it coming guys!

This keeps reminding me that I need to get you my car in the spring

Same, I need to have the M3 done so I can get some nice photos before I smash body panels.
