With the forum based mainly in an upstate area of NY, I figure there needs to be a thread where everyone can add their .02 cents on vehicle exterior/interior care during the brutal months of winter.
I, shall start first.
Exterior:
The only thing that gets a cleaning by myself are the outside windows, front and rear lights, and mirrors. I use either stoner window cleaner or an equivalent ammonia-free spray (right now im using armor all that i got in a gift pack for Christmas) along with a microfiber applicator pad to wipe the window off and then a microfiber cloth to wipe away the residue. Win.
The paint, wheels, and underbody don’t get touched until April.
Interior:
I have rubber floormats which I clean inside with soap and warm water when they start to get covered in bulllllSHIT. I then vacuum out the interior on an as-needed basis.
I just filled the fire extinguisher up with hot water and zip wax. fyi hot water + zip wax + fumes = headache. Car is clean though, and now the driveway is covered in ice :thumbup
i wash my truck when it is semi warm and i know it wont get dirty for a while. inside doesnt really get dirty in the winter only summer months, and 40 cetane witha dash of power service white everytank!
