A President you can have a beer with...

Say goodbye to your socialized health care. It’s pretty clear why Obama wanted this passed in a hurry; once people have time to look at the numbers and he loses messiah title it’s never going to pass.

yeah lets just keep the system that if you hurt some greedy HMO’s profits, you die. And the associated double digit yearly increase in costs.

We can’t even blame you guys either, its all the stupid fucking Blue Dogs fault. The Republicans hammered through all kinds of awful Bush shit with 50 votes and dick cheney back in the early 2000’s. We can’t even get 60 votes to come together and tell the republicans and their friends in health care lobbying to suck a dick, we’re in charge now.

Yeah, I’m not saying we don’t need major health care reform, I just don’t want to see the government taking it over. In the history of modern US government they have never run a program efficiently.

A great example of government health care at work:

Commissioner Whitfield says EMS knows those services exist too, but doesn’t think any agency dropped the ball by not pushing Graham toward those services. “I wouldn’t say we dropped the ball. What I would say, is that we have a lot of balls to carry, and we can’t carry them all. We cannot staff to the worst case scenario. We can’t tailor the system to one person’s needs.”

Incompetence like that is allowed when you don’t have boards, stockholders and a bottom line to worry about.

But the Republicans bitch about the democratic plan yet their idea is to do nothing. They have this mysterious alternative reform bill that doesn’t really exist. They are going to vote against anything the Democrats propose anyway, so I dont know why these stupid Blue Dogs are so worried about they think. At least with a government run program there is accountability to the public if they want to do what’s not in the best interest of our health, as well as the size and scope that most providers HAVE to accept the prices they set. People get denied life-saving treatments or meds all the time by HMO’s and it simply gets covered up.
The military health care system is a great example that the government can do it right. Much better care than any private provider gives.
What they have now, led by that idiot Max Baucus’s committee, is so watered down it’s not recognizable. It went from a bill that was going to lower the costs of everyone’s insurance, to one where costs for everyone stay the same, only now we have to cover the uninsured too.

How did the police act stupidly? There were called about a break in and they showed up to Gates house. He was inside an showed his ID and proved he lived there…ok, so next they asked him to step outside and he refused. The cop originally showed up alone and was unsure if someone else could have been in the house. So Gates refused to listen to a cop and he got chared…only person to blame is Gates himself. Cop acted right inthe situation for what I read. It would be no different that a cop asking you to step out of your house when investigating a case such as a break in happening and you saying no. He Gates would have kept his mouth shut, he wouldn’t have been charged.

actually gates refused to show ID. He demanded the officer’s badge number whenever he was asked to show ID. He only proved residence after backup was called. So while screaming at the cop and refusing to show ID after a call is made about B&E your going to get arrested.

News flash: THIS STORY IS 100% FICTION from the 911 call to the last sip of Bud Light.

And the Oscar goes to…

WAT

Exactly, Republicans have been drumming up this “you’re all going to die” and “the government is going to get between you and your doctor!” what the hell do they think HMO’s have been doing? They get in the way of patients and their doctors all the time. They allow people to die of curable ailments everyday and they do it for PROFIT.

The Republicans have no plan to fix healthcare because deep down they don’t see a problem.

How many small businesses would profit from not having to pay crazy amounts of cash to pay for their employee’s health benefits? Aren’t Republicans supposed to be pro-business? Or are they just pro-corporations like Blue Cross Blue Shield?

Because after Gates showed him his ID the cop should have left, or talked to the person that made the 911 call. Instead he got pissed at what Gates was saying to him and arrested him because of it. There was no law broken, thats why the charges were dropped, thats why the cop acted stupidly. But again I say that this is mainly Gates’ fault no the cops.

Doesn’t matter, the cops job is to investigate the call. That is what he was doing, his job. At this point the guy should have stepped outside and cooperated with the police, since he was the only officer there at this time and let him do his search/investigation. Not get mouthy with the officer, just because he showed proof does not mean someone was not in the house.

Once the Gates showed ID the cop has no authority to enter the house, he would need to hear someone screaming or something to go in.

The cop got pissed because Gates was mouthing off at him and arrested him for it. That is not a crime. Thats why the charge was dropped and that why the cop acted stupidly, of course this all could have been avoided had Gates not thrown a temper tantrum that why most but not all of the blame goes to Gates.
