A President you can have a beer with...

I’m not to sure about this one but since I think both sides were wrong on this lets see if some closure can come out of it.

I am almost as tired of hearing about this as I am of hearing about Michael Jackson.

What a retarded situation. Obama shouldn’t have said a fucking thing about it since he didn’t know what happened, now he can’t back pedal because he can’t take whitey’s side on the first race issue to come up during the first ever black presidency. Idiot.

Yeah def dumb on his part, to be honest he should never have been asked about it in the first place.

YES!!!

ROCHESTER, N.Y., July 29, 2009 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ – The Genesee Brewery, one of the oldest and continually operating breweries in the United States, is asking the President to make it a Genny.
“We think it’s great that the President is getting together over beers to have an important discussion. A lot of good solutions have surfaced when people can relax and talk over a couple cold ones,” said Rich Lozyniak, CEO of The Genesee Brewing Company. “We just hope the next time the President has a beer, he chooses an American beer, made by American workers, at an American-owned brewery like Genesee.” The Genesee Brewery has a great American story In its heyday, the Genesee Brewery made millions of barrels of Genesee Beer. For the past couple of decades the brewery has struggled to stay in operation against increased foreign competition. Recently, the brewery was purchased by an American private equity firm KPS that created North American Breweries – saving nearly 400 American jobs in Upstate New York. Since then, NAB provided nearly $16 million in private investment in the brewery and its brands.
“This is the ultimate American story. We represent everyday men and women who clock in and out and take great pride in their work,” said Lozyniak. “We’re proud that Genny’s an American beer made by great American workers.” About The Genesee Brewery The Genesee Brewery, based in Rochester, New York, is one of the largest and oldest continually operating breweries in the United States. The brewery makes the historic Genesee line of brands, Seagram’s Escapes, as well as Dundee Ales and Lagers family of craft brands, which includes the Original Honey Brown Lager. The Genesee Brewery also manufactures beer and other alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages under contracts on behalf of other companies.
About North American Breweries North American Breweries is the national platform for investments and growth in the beer and malt beverages industries for KPS Capital Partners, LP. North American Breweries owns Genesee Brewing Company, Labatt USA and a perpetual license for Seagram’s Escapes from Pernod Ricard USA, LLC.

yeah the media should not be able to ask the president certain questions. then we would actually hear him fumble answers and he would not look so perfect. :banghead:

well considering it was the last question in a press conference about HEALTH CARE… That’s like giving a presentation at work on something and then asking for questions and the first one is about your love life. I think Jon Stewart summed it up best at the end of this. They should have limited the questions to healthcare related, or he should have deflected the question with a typical “Race relations in america are a complicated issue, and often there is no “right” side, and I don’t know all the facts of the case, blah blah blah.”

i dont think it was the first question of the conference…but i am not sure. It doesnt matter what the conference is about, if there is a current event that needs to be addressed then it should be addressed.

i meant to say last question, see edit. It does matter. If I’m taking questions about health care all night, ask me about health care. That one 10 second response ruined the desired effect of the whole presser cause the stupid media completely ignored the first 59:30.

Sorry I’m all about questioning the president on issues, but this is not White House material. And I question whether a white president would have been asked the same question. Maybe, maybe not.

He gave a stupid answer politically, but my personal opinion was that he was right. The police acted stupidly and Gates over reacted.

In this situation I place the blame 60-40 with most of the blame going to Gates.

you guys need to get out more lol

To be honest I could care less about the gates situation i just dont agree with censoring what questions the media can ask.

It is supposed to be understood that in a topic-specific arena, you ask questions related to the topic. They took advantage of the additional leeway the Obama admin. gives them in asking questions or the previous admin., and made him look stupid. That’s why you never saw anyone ask Bush in a press conference about his privatization of Social Security plan, “Why can’t you pronounce the word nuclear?”

The problem is that this might set a precedent that everytime a race related issue comes to the media that the President will have to respond, mainly because he is black.

Could you imagine if the President of the United States had to do some PR bullshit for every racially charged event in the country?

no i understand the problem. its BS. Again I was just making a point about censorship specifically about the media.

and joe, just because bushy did something doesnt mean that its ok for the bamster to do it. :mamoru:

If bushy was in office that question would have never seen the light of day and they would have patriot acted the reporter

Do we seriously even care about this right now?!?!?!?!

Have we all forgotten that…

MICHAEL JACKSON JUST DIED!?!?

This is a far more interesting Obama story.

That hopey changey thing isn’t working out so well.

must be the hundreds of millions the right wing is throwing at opposing his health care plan to the public.
