? about Buffalo neighborhoods and suburbs

Cheektowaga, Amherst, W Seneca, and Williamsville they are all good, most of N Buffalo is ok but just remember that no matter where you want to go its realistically only 15 mins to get almost anywhere

Hmm my house was built in 1920 and the neigborhood is still nice. Unless a natural disaster happens I dont think any of the good neighborhoods in Buffalo are changing for the worse. People are moving back into the city these days so the trend is for the better.

My house is about 5 min or less from the 33 depending on how many lights you hit. Its especially easy to get to the thruway in the city by either the 33 or 190.

Dozer posted a great map, just use that if you want to live in the city.

A great thing about living in north buffalo is pretty much every where I shop is right there. At the end of my street is my gym, restaurants, walgreens, pizza, etc. Wegmans, Target, PEPBOYS, Innovative Tuning and any other store you can think of is about a 3 min drive. Its nice to have everything close to where you live, saves so much time.

Whoever has knocked the city and it’s school system, don’t know shit. I grew up in the city, and went to public schools, I know what they’re about. There are still a lot of great areas in the city to live (for example, I’ll take ANY place in the Del. park area, over any bullshit suburb), and like Dre siad, there’s a lot of great schools too, where you learn a little bit about “culture” too, and real life interaction.

Well the buffalo public school system is always rated last by Business first. Unfortunately they rate the system as a whole, and the schools like city honors (which is rated the #1 public school) gets grouped with the other poor schools in the system.

I have a unit that’s opening up. As soon as the floors are done getting stained and the paint is on the walls I’ll shoot you over some pics

So you have to test into these schools, but if you start out in the 97th ranked school in WNY (out of 97), aren’t you at a serious disadvantage to getting the education you need to test into these schools?

We’ve had this discussion before. To me, giving my kid all the advantages is a lot more important that being able to walk to the bar and the grocery store. Besides, once you have a family, walking to the grocery store is pointless unless you want to shop every day. No way 2 people could carry home what we buy a week.

:word:

and

Williamsville has sweet blockpartys

If that is the case, then you clearly don’t mind investing in your child’s education and sending them to a private institution, and the quality of Buffalo’s public schools is a moot point. Now you can stop picking fights and move on to something constructive.

Moving on,

Poopra- would it be safe to say that your list would correlate to area property taxes?

Joe- a liberal Democrat who is also a landlord? That’s unpossible!

hamburg FTW

I would have to guess it would, my moms a real estate agent she would know who has the highest taxes if you were thinking about buying.

you’d prolly like west seneca
