ABS for Inspection

My truck came with ABS, (First production truck with 4 wheel ABS). Anyways, i’ve always had the power disconnected from it. All my sensors on the wheels are bad. I believe they’re about $700 each.

I want to remove the ABS unit, and run new brakes lines in its place.

Can i get it inspected. Will a vehicle that’s supposed to have ABS, but doesn’t, pass inspection.

My S10 has had the ABS light on for about 4 years now. It passes every time. They don’t even ask me about it. I guess it doesn’t matter.

I’m actually happy it is not working…I hate that shit.

yes u can,as long as the brake work!(they aint 700 each either)

IF you are worried about it, just pull the bulb from the cluster where the ABS icon is. I pulled my whole ABS setup, including the main harnesses, and I don’t even think anyone noticed. My car is OBD1 so it doesn’t get scanned though.

ABS isn’t needed to pass. The brakes just have to work and have enough pad on them to pass.

My light has been on since January and it passed.

if your pads/shoes are good, no lines leaking and your brakes actually work you’re good

well my ABS light doesnt come on, unless i plug the harness to the module, so if i delete the module, and replace the brake lines, no light should come up.

the only time the light came up was when i plugged the power to the module, and the dash light came on, and it threw all the codes.

are they a regular off the shelf part?? or is it a special deal?

off the self
