Its an unknown year winnebago camper that I picked up for a cheap $100. The frame is 100% solid with minimal surface rust. It rolls so well that I was able to use a light duty cable hand winch to pull it onto the trailer with minimal effort. It has trailer brakes, propane hook-up,etc. The plan is to convert it into an enclosed trailer for bikes, snowmobiles, etc. The plan is:

  1. Gut the interior but leave all the overhead cabinets in tact (great for storage). Also probably going to leave the front table/bed to use as a work bench or keep it as a table. Re-run propane to a small propane heater that I will be able to use to heat the trailer and work on anything I need to in wonderful warmth… lol. The back door will be cut approx. 2" in from each tail light and about an inch above the existing window with a heavy duty hinge on top and some heavy duty hydraulic supports to lift the whole back section just like the hatch on a car. Then mounted to the rear “bumper” will be a basic full size fold-up ramp that will latch to the back when tilted up, and give a nice ramp for easy loading when down. Also probably going to add a battery to the front by the propane, and some small lights on the inside. The windows will be great for allowing plenty of light in unlike most enclosed trailers that you can buy. Then just a quick rustoleum primer on the exterior to help stop the rust and a quick painting of the outside to just clean it up a bit. Then the last touches will be to rewire the lights, replace the broken lights, and replace the few window panes that need to be fixed. Then it will be registered and make one hell of a nice enclosed hauler. The goal is to have it mostly finished by August for Indy MotoGP (even if the finishing touches arent done, enough to be able to get the bikes to indy). I cant wait to get going on it and then ultimately get it finished and have myself an awesome enclosed trailer.

Quick story on the bullet holes; The lady we bought it from apparently had some kids feeding her animals so “I pulled out the shotgun and took a shot… then said Oh Shit when I remembered the trailer was there”. Now this trailer was about 20ft from the road and was a direct line from her house to the road. Yea, we loaded that sucker up and got the hell out of there as fast as we could… lol.

Will update as the project progresses.

as I was reading it I was saying to myself god I hope he didn’t pay more than 100 bucks lol good find !!

hope you have had a tetanus shot within the last 10 years…

the way I see it even if something goes south and I cant complete the project, there is at least $100 in scrap aluminum/steel there so its pretty much a win win.

I think there might actually be more rust on that shitty red car in front of it… lmao

I saw that on CL a week or so ago.

If all else fails its a good base for a flatbed trailer.

Congrats on the new house purchase!

I wouldn’t blame your ADHD. I have the disorder and never have gotten the impulse to buy Travis’ old house.

The ADHD is responsible for me getting into 1000000 projects at a time… lol. I get bored of it very quickly and move onto something else. But this one I need so I have to do what I can to get it done quickly… before I get bored of it.

Thousand projects started, maybe one finished… that’s how I am anyway. ha

Currently I have the dash for my VW halfway done, a 75% finished bathroom that I’m remodelling, a rear clip to an MR2 that is supposed to be turned into a grill, 80% finished electrical updates on the house, an 83 suzuki GS550 restore that is about 1/2 done (torn down, frame painted, misc. parts powdercoated), and now this. Someday I will actually start getting some of them done… lol

Sounds like me, 82 F150 frame-off(8yrs so far lol), the mustang, building a pond, camp shit, atv, it never ends!

You forgot about your Jeep. :thumbup

American picker.

yea, but the jeep will never be finished… lol

neither will the bike or grill

the grill probably not, but the bike will be… or I will end up selling the parts from it… lol

Was this for sale out in Johnstown?

:rofl :rofl :rofl

It was out by Lake Desolation outside Saratoga
