well, i just bought my new toy hauler, so my car is going strictly track. but now that i went out and spent all this money on a truck, i can’t exactly afford a trailer right now. i was wondering if anyone knows of any plans on the internet to build one. either a single or tandem axle would work. even plans for a wheel dolly would be great. thanks guys!!
oh, and if anyone’s curious, it’s an '05 f150 ext. cab fx4 offroad edition w/5.4L triton v8 booyah! …so pumped…
corpes used to build his own motorcycle trailer… maybe he can build you one for your car too???
his weld is approved by me!!! his welded rearset used to handle my bike getting sandwitched! draging on pavement and all that!! and lets not forget the subframe he fixed for me… if his welded parts can take 50+ times of me droping the bike everyday… its a one strong weld.
You’re gonna have so many problems with that truck… I own one… enough money in repairs to pay off half of a brand new one.
That pretty much has 0 validity to the quality of his welds.
Back on topic.
I’m in the process of trying to locate some decent plans. So I can build one of these myself.
If I find anything in the near future I will PM you. Also if you need help with building it I can also help you.
who needs plans to build a trailer? just buy an axle, take some measurements and get busy! if i were to build one, i’d do it out of aluminum… so much lighter.
to me atleast 636cc bike flying in the air higher the my height landing on a rearset which he fixed and weld, landing on a subframe he welded and reinfoced draging the whole parking lot, landing on it after i loop is pretty good enough imo.
heck he used to fix marine how good his weld could be right? lol
lol that better not be the 3 valve 5.4L triton.
For a wheel dolly you dont really need any plans its perdy basic just build it wide enough to allow steering. that is pretty much the only thing you have to worry about.
I could build you a gangster alluminum one if you wanted
Yes, they are easy enough to make on your own. But sometimes. Having a set of plans make life a little easier. Saves a lot of time and guess work.
And about your truck.
Look into its valvetrain. The early models have some serious issues with not having enough oil up top. It actually sounds bone dry.
Be careful with your spark plugs. They’re a dumb fucking design. And they have a high tendency to break off into the combustion chamber. Ford has a tool specifically made to get it out. Ask me how I know.
Your rear diff will most likely start to buck when making low speed tight tight turns.
It’s either worn out internals or there isn’t enough locking fluid in it. Or whatever it is…
Ball joints go like motherfuckers in these… I almost replace mine once a year
hmm, shit, hopefully i don’t have any of those problems with mine…front ends, well, that seems to be every truck, ford, chev, dodge, well, dodge especially. man, with $400 month payments, i don’t want anything to go on it.
Kix, should have bought a truck through me from Adesa or Manheim. There’s F250 and F350 diesels going for $15-20k pending mileage and year. For example, a client of mine just purchased a 2007 F250 ext cab diesel for $18k with 60,000km’s on it. Now those are made to haul ass buddayyyy
shiiit man, i wish i would have known. it’s just a pain in the ass for me to drive all the way down to deal with you guys. keep in mind i live north of north bay.
you might of fixed your trailer problem by now, but if you’re looking for plans and still having trouble figuring shit out, just got to like a u-haul or something and take a look at one of their car dollies… make sure to take a pen and paper… and a tape measure, pretty easy to figure something out
Lol oh your truck, every time that thing breaks I’m on it faster than a nympho to a porn shoot lmao. It throws codes so much, I just left my scanner with him. The spark plug tool, made by Ford, is called the Rotunda tool. Also, you may want to evaluate the condition of the fuel pump driver…which is located…wait for it…above the spare tire. Personally, I like them…but yea. Also good luck with the trailer.
