Adoption: Two Chinese Water Dragons...

Is anyone interested in adopting two female Chinese water dragons (Jade and Igby)?

They are about 6 years old and can live about 12 - 15 years (or so i read). One was a rescue and the other was bought from a show a number of years ago by my girlfriend. They have been laying infertile eggs every year, so if you have a male, you can start breeding . We just don’t have the time to properly care for them anymore and the space to give them a better setup.

At some point they had mouth rot, but it seems to have gone away and they are healing slowly. Their bottom lips receded slightly from the rot, but it doesn’t seem to impair their eating in any way. Jade is VERY active and friendly, however Igby is semi-active and does not like to be held.

We usually feed them super worms because that’s about all the like to eat. They will eat crickets, but they are picky about them sometimes. We have never had luck with pinkys or goldfish.

Their setup is a little small and we just don’t have the room to expand it. You will get everything in the cage and the cage itself. The cage isn’t the best, so you will probably have to give them something better down the road.

In Cage:

· Small fountain.

· Mister.

· Branches and leaves to climb on.

· Mega-ray 160 watt UVB bulb from Welcome To ReptileUV - Mega-Ray® UVB lamps for reptile lighting worldwide

· Another light fixture.

· UVB tube (really old and doesn’t do much, but I’ll give it to you).

· Heat mat.

· Small water tub.

· I’ll also throw in a timer, super worms, calcium power, and multivitamin to last you a few days.

My only requirement is that someone has prior experience with these reptiles, or at least knows what they are getting into, and that they are going to a good home.
