what does an all motor car do if it cant go into boost it must not be able to go up the hill? turbo cars dont need to be in boost to cruise without a tailwind. normally driving down the highway at 70-75 im at 10 inches of vacuum. hitting positive pressure is definately controller by the user, anybody with some willpower could drive in just about any condition without getting into boost. you can downshift to bring the rpms up and keep out of boost if necessary. less throttle and higher rpms almost always nets better gas mileage.
if you are running 5x the stock size injectors you can run the larger injectors at 1/5 the duty cycle to net the same fuel being injected (round figures but you get the idea). If you are really a go getter on optimizing the setup you can run 2 sets of injectors per cylinder, and only run the first set until the second set is needed.
im not making 700whp but aside from a larger fuel pump my fueling demands arent much different than what is required for a 700whp setup. ive driven to boston and back on one tank of gas. figure it to be about 36 mpg.
What? every thing you say about 700 hp verses your 500hp is wrong you cant theorize shit till it happens. The demands of a 700hp 4 cyl ARE different than in yours. I’m supposed to believe you dont drive like grandma? to get 36 mpg cuz you do. Your actually saying that your 500hp 4 banger is getting better gas mileage than my 1.8 litre turbo 4 cyl that only makes 220/230ft/lb FAIL
my fueling demands cruising around would be the same, the larger pump would just perform better at the higher rail pressures under boost where the walbro starts to run out of juice. i would be using the same injectors so spray pattern will be the same. in short the fuel maps wouldnt be changed below boost, so it consume the same amount of gas. you call it theory, i call it logic. yes the 700hp motors fueling demands are different but the additional fuel is only needed when the turbo is at full boost, and last time i checked when people tested their mpg it wasnt at WOT.
my car can get 36mpg, and at the time it could make 613whp, now it makes 574whp. i drive like grandma most of the time, why not, theres no need to beat on the car all the time. as to why i can get better gas mileage than your car, my car is lighter, the motor is more efficient, and my tune may be better optimized.
Hmmm. I get gallons to the mile on high boost…but manage 18 around town bein a grandpa. But damn, admit, Im a bit jealous when you all start talking 30 mpg plus!
ummmmmmmmm without that 2/3 horsepower shit that big lumpy cam and heads aint gonna do dick but slow ya down but nice clear lid on cardomain what that get ya 2 horse and the green filter another 3 horse
