The chevy patten is a standardized layout from the beginning of time to the LS. chevy 90 deg they call it. I found the layouts from companies that build adapters, bell housings and such that post it. there is like a million results for the chevy pattern.
the 1.8T, as anyone would assume was a lot harder. I found a guy who swapped a 1.9L into a vanagon with some domestic trans behind it. he posted the drawing. I will continue looking for more results to put confidence in it. Also we could measure out a few key points and see how they match up to the drawing. This weekend I am going away for a mini vacation. Next week I will load up the drawings in solidworks then over define it with a ton of measurements, then get the caliper out and start matching them up on the blocks to verify.
as long as the crank centerline and the input shaft are dead nuts, the converter has some wiggle room, as long as the adapter is made 100% concentric too.
SBC dimensionality I have and verified those drawings today as being correct. I have these specs already on file for the engine dyno adaptor plates at the shop.
VW dimensionality looks solid, I can verify it on the mill as I have a 1.8 block down there in storage.
I am putting the dims into SW now to test my skills. I have a 1.8T bell I can throw a caliper on to get a ball park to make sure its not totally different.
I will call you in 2 hrs and meet you at the shop anyways. I also have a DVD for you. :thumbup
