alternative zenki clear headlight solution

http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/showthread.php?threadid=22858

found this on zilvia. originally done on a toyota but can easily be carried over for s14 zenki application.

cool idea but i think its extremly ugly looks super ghetto

all this does is clear out the lens so its clear. no different than buying a final konnexxion cover, how is it ugly?

Won’t that ruin the beam pattern?

yes it would. but that problem is solved with a nice set of retrofitted HIDs which would be the main incentive to do this mod in the first place hehe.

im pretty sure

looks a hell of a lot better than this ghetto hack job.

The first one costs money. The second one only costs you your time. You 240 guys are lucky that there is an aftermarket for your cars. The Camry boys have to custom build EVERYTHING. (Of course, I AM a little biased, having owned and tried modding Camrys  )

well if u read through the post you’d know that thats a pic of a used headlmap he tested on to do the write up. if u use a clean NEW headlamp like he suggested the results would be like the aftermarket ones that cost an arm and a leg.

id rather spend the money…

I like the non-homemade ones better.

Ya seriously I would never do that to my Zenki headlights

www.fugly.com???

well it should turn out more like this
http://djhtown.freeservers.com/DIY1.JPG
so basically a clear lens that looks just like the final konnexxion ones.
imo not bad, but its a lot of time and u risk fu.cking up your headlights.

I wouldnt try it, i own a zenki s14. Those connexion ones are soooo mint, but fuck too much money. Why did nissan decide to put these ugly plexiglass covers on in the first place?

To diffuse the light properly and obtain a proper beam pattern?

Clear covers, while they look supersexy, will create a lot of glare and offer really shitty beam dispersion if the shiny metal reflector inside isn’t ribbed/textured to compensate.

Ugly and Ghetto!!! Tell me more mister!!! Good god man…please leave the uber boro boro stuff at home!

That’d be pretty decent, if as Mr.Skinny said you clear out the entire thing, and you retrofit a set of E46 3 series projectors. Mmmm… Hella = t3h PWN! (and t3h expensive  )
