Dear Customers,
Our Prime Instant Video team is on a roll. Today, we’re announcing an agreement with Disney-ABC that adds 800 popular titles from ABC Studios, The Disney Channel, ABC Family, and Marvel. These new titles will bring the total to almost 13,000 TV shows and movies — all available for unlimited instant streaming.
The popular series Lost and Grey’s Anatomy will be ready for streaming tomorrow. Then, we’ll add other favorites including Felicity, The Disney Channel’s Phineas & Ferb, Marvel’s X-Men Evolution, and ABC Family shows like Greek and episodes from the most current season of The Secret Life of the American Teenager.
Disney-ABC joins recently announced deals with FOX, CBS, NBC-Universal, and PBS — just to name a few. We’ve added shows like Arrested Development, Firefly, The X-Files, every series of Star Trek, and Prison Break. You can watch on over 300 different devices, including our new Kindle Fire. Instant video streaming is a new benefit of Amazon Prime and is brought to you at no additional cost — Prime membership remains $79 a year.

P.S. You can also watch movies and TV shows instantly at our Amazon Instant Video Store, where we offer more than 100,000 movies and TV shows for rent or purchase, no Prime membership required.
I am a Prime member and have yet to use this service. I did have a 100# drywall jack shipped Next Day air for $3.00 and that alone more than paid for the membership!
I have a Netflix trial for a month and Amazon is offering a streaming free trial. Since most I watch is TV shows, I think I may drop my Hulu and check this out. $79 a year for a Prime membership and unlimited streaming? I think it would be pretty hard to pass up since its less than any streaming service out there I think.
I use Amazon for streaming all the time since I don’t have cable. Best way to put it, is this with the addition of Hulu Plus keeps me very satisfied.
The Amazon VOD catalog is pretty good to keep you busy. They have a lot of older stuff, but with the addition of a lot of Fox titles, they really got a lot more great content.
I haven’t been as impressed with Amazon yet which is surprising. I get much higher quality from iTunes and even Netflix. They say its my issue, but I’m capable of streaming in HD from the other sources without issue so…
The video quality from what I’ve seen is really dependent on the device you’re using. I have a high end Sony Smart LED in my living room, so I can just stream right off of the TV’s menu. For that, SD looks like HD because of the TV’s built-in scaling. But when I use my bedroom TV, an entry level Samsung and I stream from my Roku box you can definitely tell it’s SD. It really is night and day.
