Wheres the most recent update

I’ve been working on cleaning everything as thoroughly as possible. Changed the timing belt, water pump, idler pulley and thermostat. De-greased all sorts of brackets, clamps, bolts, and coolant pipes. Painted a bunch of little covers and brackets satin black. Left the aluminum pieces raw. Also had the flywheel resurfaced and ordered a few fittings for the oil cooler and bolts from the dealer.

Still more cleaning to be done but here are a few pics:

Flywheels back from hunts:

Engine before cleansing:

New timing treats installed:

Timing all buttoned up and significantly more clean!:

Still more cleansing to do but MUCH better:

Thanks to Ron @Rhino Racing making custom tools and parts since 2007!

Slide hammer to remove timing idler and crank pulley lock tool:

Machining the crank lock too:

Also…ordered a turbo and some other nonsense! :ninja

good work dood. need more clean tho.

Thanks but see below ya cholo:

I heard you ordered more goodies

Should be fun and surprise some unsuspecting victims.

Is this the best running/cleanest two hundge in existence?

No the only, but you can probably count them on one hand.

Yes/Yes

What exhaust manifold did you decide on?
Gonna be so badass with the new snail !

Thanks man! +rep

I’m just going to run the stock manifold to hold me over until next year and I’ll switch out the exhaust housing for a Tial and have a manifold and new downpipe built.

mighty fine work there brosef. always love checkin in and seeing progress on the 2hundge. makes we want to start refurbing the v8 head to toe. I think i might do that over the next few years…aint many left so i feel its my duty to keep one more running/looking good. gonna wait till its warmer though so i can run the mr2 and start tworkn the 8.

keep up the strong work!

I know just making sure, let me know when you want to make it big red style clean.

Come on over and give some input. I am not good when it comes to this sort of thing. I bought paint to do the bay (legit factory color matched silver and clear with hardener) but I don’t know if I have the patience to do all of that work. Open to input. I’ll be working on it Sunday, Monday, Tuesday.

ill stop over mon or tues, and give you the 411 on getting it looking mint.

No cutting the fenders David

Nick a roo, did you pop the oil pump/pan off and reseal those? I don’t think I’ve seen a single one of these that hasn’t been leaking/weeping oil and it just lends itself to a huge mess later on.

looking good otherwise.
