… talk about gains from just a flash:

Not long ago the shop picked up a new 2012 Mercedes E63 AMG 5.5 biturbo development car. Over the past couple of months Mitch and Chris (AMS Tuners) have been working inside our new European Tuning division of AMS called Archetype tuning (www.archetypetuning.com)

Using our in house software they were able to remap our E63 and pick up some ridiculous power.

225 ft lbs of torque over stock and 155 more whp in the mid-range… all from JUST a custom AMS /Archetype tune.

Next up is a slew of hardware upgrades including the turbos

Maybe they do that for warranty and insurance purposes, kind of like the 335 BMW. Who knows?

Not really that surprised. Manufacturer’s always leave quite a bit on the table with stock boosted cars. It is a twin turbo V8, I doubt they would send it off the plant floor with the turbos and fuel system completely maxed out, you want to leave some room to ensure some longevity.

Is this not f***ing amazing?! They do this all day long, there’s never ending posts like this from AMS. Yea they’re pricey as hell but what you get is top notch.

+1 look how flat the original torque curve is. In my position we “de-tune” the engine all the time based on what the OEM customer wants/needs.
