I tried on my speedo last night, fits like a glove, or sock :lol
Can you with bolt type clamps, yeah as a temporary measure. Not the best thing to do though. Definitely a nono on fuel lines(exactly the mess that’s under Cossey’s R33 at the moment.) Definitely a nono with worm clamps.
Proper thing to do is to either braze/tig on some appropriate male AN fittings that you can affix proper hose ends to, OR buy a compression to NPT type fitting and attach that to the heater core hard lines and run NPT to hose end fittings from there on, OR go from AN hose to barb fitting to short section of rubber line to be clamped onto heater core.
In every way possible, do something to avoid having to clamp braided line over a hard tube. It’s very difficult to compress the braided weave to get the proper clamp load on the internal material.
Aeroquip pushloc from Jegs. and GAP FREE PINCH CLAMPS FROM MC MASTER CARR. Just as flexable as braided, compatable with more fluids and works excellent as a general service hose when not used with the pushloc fittings.
you dont need heat
weight reduction.

Thanks for the input guys! I want to do this the right way. Travis/Adam: Is there anything wrong with flaring the metal coolant lines?
I personally don’t think the lines will flare correctly
If you have the part # and its still available from Nissan Japan RHDJapan.com will catalog and make it orderable. It take about a week for them to find it and catalog it if its not already listed.
I dont have the proper part number and with the Greddy intake manifold the lines will fit nicer if I do something custom.
Done properly, just fine. You just need to use the appropriate flare/flaring tool for the type of connection and fittings you plan to use. If it’s a brass or copper tubing, I recommend annealing the metal prior to flaring to allow it to form without cracking.
Went to Omni but he wasnt able to make anything up like i have sooo just gave the manager at advance auto a BJ to let me pick through all the molded hoses they have in the back. Not exactly the way I wanted to go but should be reliable and leak free for a long time.
The couplers going to firewall are to adapt from 3/4" to 5/8" so I need those. So the only coupler I had to use is the one by the oil cooler. I wasnt able to find a piece with a U shape like that.
you cheaped out on the processor.
JK its much cleaner, got the job done and was far less work/money that way. its not a show car, it gets shit done… thats all that matters.
pretty much what i’ve been trying to say all along.
Definitely not going for that. I just wanted those damn hoses to not give me shit for over a year or more. Its too much of a bitch to get to them.
