announcement!!!!! No longer tuning hondas.

Bottom line is you can’t please everybody. If he decides to just tune Hondas (or any make for that matter) on a selective basis, then those couple here or there that get turned away are still going to rant about it. At the end of the day, I’m sure if a Honda person really wants their tuning done here, they’ll take the time to PM him and convince him that their build is up to spec for his tuning.

John,

You will tune my civic, and you will LIKE IT.

Love,

Jam

it’s the sign of a successful business when you can turn away poor people.

+1

I’m sure he’ll change his mind by 2020, so it won’t be a problem when your cars ready.

I’m sure many Honda owners don’t help your motivation either…

I’m not here to start another shit storm over all of this. I can certainly agree with you that there are plenty of haphazard thrown together cars out there, of all makes and models, not just Hondas.

Plenty of shops turn cars away on a daily basis for these reasons. Whether it be the type of build, parts used, or EMS chosen, everyone is comfortable with different things.

Many shops have actually taken it the extra step by providing step by step check lists of procedures/checks that need to be performed (and signed off on) before they will even think about touching a vehicle for a tuning appointment. Obviously you are taking a huge risk on both your name, as well as your shops name by offering tuning (which is something most people have 0 clue about) of any kind, even if it was perfectly built, there will always be that risk. Any tuner that tells you that’s not in the back of their mind each and every time they roll something onto their dyno is full of shit.

I will say this, I feel the thread could have gone without the few (what I interpreted as) cheap shots towards a certain someone. A someone who I’d say has been beyond professional/respectful throughout this entire situation, but hey that’s just my opinion.

All in all, I’ve only met you once years ago,and you seem to have good intentions and a loyal following, which is more than I can say about a lot of people in this business. I wish you luck and success in this cut throat business, it’s certainly not easy to stay afloat these days.

mmmmm pushrods.

If you are talking about eric then you are wrong. Even though the stress of his situation didn’t help this was long in the making and not a cheap shot towards him at all.

Its quite simple, I have a regular job and when im not at my regular job im with my daughter. When i have free time i take on builds and projects. Right now my time is better invested tuning other “brands” of cars. Ive been spending hours ontop of hours trouble shooting issues that have nothing to do with check lists or pre inspections. its just not worth it anymore.

This makes a lot of sense.

Things like building me another turbo kit?

you know it!

Can’t argue with you there. I’ve also become much more selective on what/if anything outside of my personal/family projects that I will take on anymore. Good luck moving forward with whatever it is you choose to do.

I can sum this up…

Currently John is down with the sickness.

Really hope it wasn’t the kid Andy and I sent ya… If so I’m sorry, but there is no need to give up on what your good at but I know the stresses of feeling responsible tuning other’s setups. Its a heavy weight to bare and its a gamble everytime you touch a car built by some random Joe Shmo that the client “trusts”. I can only imagine its amplified when we are talking about any 4cyl 300+whp setup. Still your an asset to this community.

Regardless you need to get AndyB’s del sickness back on the map, if you don’t that thing will never see the street again.

…wait Jam’s building a honda? lol

so does this mean you have tuning thangs for sale?

But really I still <3 your face

Why you putting my buzzinessss out on the streetz???

Correct me if I’m wrong but I didnt catch the forecast calling for an accumulation of 1/4inch of dust… Your whooped

Keeping the paint protected by the dust… Wait what
