If you haven’t checked recently, I would really suggest giving them a call. My agent that I’ve been with for about 5 years even said there was nothing he could do right now. Basically Geico is making a big push in NY and has dropped their rates considerably. He said they may very well raise their rates in a year or two, but for now he couldn’t blame me for leaving.
I went from $711/6 months full coverage on my 2000 Expedition and 2005 GTO to $548. I am married and a homeowner which helps my rate, but I also have a cell phone ticket and an at fault accident over $1000 in the past 36 months.
Wow…thats pretty good. I think i am paying something like $1000 a year for the Mustang and WRX with 2 points on my record. Maybe I should check Geico out and save a little more.
Since switching over a year ago, I’ve watched my rates continually drop. With Progressive, I was over $1400/year. Now with Geico, I’m down to maybe $700 to $800/year and I still have on accident on record.
yes i have gotten into an accident with them. And i must say they have very good service. Got in the accident, called them, took my car the next day to have them look it over. They signed the $5k check over to the dealer and they fixed my car. Had the car all fixed in under a week.
No and no. My homeowners is with Farmers, and at one time my car insurance was with them as well for the multi-policy discount. The discount was no where near as much as I saved when I switched the cars to Progressive and I haven’t been able to find a company since that offered homeowners and auto that could come close to the rates I’ve been getting keeping them seperate.
