audi S4 simply because you get 7 speed DSG which is way better than any auto.
a vette is not going to get mid 30s, they get mid 20s
IMO, there is no replacement for your situation. You are better off sticking with the prius/s2000 combo than buying a car that is a compromise on both sides. I highly doubt that after driving 1000 miles in 1 week that you will get into the same car on Saturday and be excited to drive it to a cruise. At least with the second car, you will look forward to taking the car for a ride and you get a break from the monotony of your DD.
You’re probably just bored with your situation and/or over thinking it. Enjoy the s2000 on the weekends and laugh your way past gas pumps in the prius.
does the new job REQUIRE you to drive that distance…or are you just commuting that distance? more to the point, who is paying for your gas- you or your employer?
I’ve never understood the argument that the more you drive the more miserable car is acceptable. It’s the other way around for me.
I put my finances over my personal enjoyment if i’m going to be racking up miles and therefore fill-ups and devaluing whatever car I’m driving with the wear & tear and miles
which is why I bought a 2010 Honda insight for a dd. 50mpg on 87 and only cost 12.5k with cert warranty to 100k.
I have 8 lower income rental units so its really low key pulling up in it and the hatch is great for tools. win - win
I also have a bike and stage 3 B5 S4 to pull out for fun on the weekends / nights after commuting. keeps things interesting if I get the itch
The man needs to get to work to make money, not make his mechanic rich. Ask Jeller what kind of vehicle the Audi tech who was working on his pile drives.
The Audi will be my wife’s dd (1 mile a day) and our weekend/fun car
prius will still be my daily
About 500 commute and 500 for appointments
If you ask ANY mechanic about the vehicles he works on he will say they suck, because they only see them when there is a problem. My touareg has been solid, and I actually just sold it to my mom. Not because I hate her but because she wanted a nice vehicle with good fuel economy (for those that don’t know it is diesel). After changing the rocker arm ($52) on the W12 it has been a flawless ride. My s4… it has a 150K It runs good but still leaks oil and coolant and is a moody bitch I think this is the car you think of when someone mentions audi, but you have to cut it some slack it is 13 years old with 150K and was clearly not maintained at all by its previous owners.

Oh and I did a bit of looking into the diesel A6 it is launching in the US in july. The aftermarket should be interesting to watch in these since they have put the 3.0 TDI in nearly every vehicle they make
I agree.
glad to hear you’re keeping the Prius if you drive 600-1000 miles/week. I’ve never heard of someone giving up a 50+mpg hybrid to go back to a regular ice car ha
Not a Honda tech.
rust
You can def get low 30’s out of a vette…

Get a M6 car and swap in a 3:23 rear pumpkin.
Cruze diesel gets 27/46
I’d just daily a SRT10 ram. get about 16mpg highway 8mpg city but love every moment of it.
Mini Cooper Paceman S can be had with turbo 1.6 AWD and automatic. Still fun and get 35-40mpg highway. They are a little bigger than the coopers
They have a cure for this, it’s called trading it in, and getting another in this god forsaken climate. My wife and myself have been doing this religiously and has worked wonders second only to the advice Vince gave us about the Sham-wow.
The new merc cla250 looks promising.
