I’ve been on the road they plan to do this to plenty of times. It’s an amazing strip of road that literally does S turns all the way down the mountain. But there are houses all along it and plenty of traffic because of a lookout point at the top. People are fucking stupid to be drifting on that road. End of story.

this is stupid. now that people won’t be able to drift down the mountain, they’re going to floor it down twice as fast as before and basically turn it into a long ass curvy drag strip. and if anything, all the extra grip will attract even more people than before because all the FWD guys will love to use it as a sorta time attack track. ALL OF WHICH will not whatsoever reduce the amount of noise, which as far as i understood, was the main problem according to local residents.
if you really want to fix the problem why don’t you put 50 cops constantly patrolling the mountain and lay down some serious fines for drifting instead of wasting a fuck load of money on something that will only attract a new type of racing to the mountain.

i don’t think you read what i said right; i’m agreeing with you. what i said was that this is a really stupid idea (on the governments part) because it wouldn’t actually stop the noise or even racing from taking place on the mountain. then i said what’s so bad about sticky roads anyway? (then i proceeded to pop an e-boner while thinking about going down these roads).
i hate cops who have nothing better to do than hand out “improper muffler” tickets instead of catching real criminals as much as everyone else, but if Hawaii wants this to stop, there are much better ways to do so than spending crazy cash on a road that will allow racers to drive even faster on.
