Any CE majors here?

I was thinking about changing from chemistry to chemical engineering. It’s just immensely more useful, and many of the same courses.

And more interesting.

Good idea/bad idea? Whyfor?

any engineering > chemistry.

i was a CE major, but i got out of it.

CE = 90% math 10%chem

Basic rule of thumb i was told when i was still in the program was to get the math down, any chem i would actually need i could just pick up later.

Well, I have news for you… 90% of chemistry is math. :wink: For serious.

no shit. But what i mean is you spend most of your time with a pad of paper and not actually doing work in a lab. So it really depends what you are more into. Crunching numbers or playing with chemicals in a lab.

What would you do with a degree in chemistry? Hardcore research?

forensics maybe

If I stopped at my bachelors it would be pointless. I could do the same work with my associates. Analytical. I can imagine I would get very bored. I’d like a job that gives me some creativity.

I really do love me my chemistry, for whatever reason.
