the ultra hasnt been around as long as the weatherby. and most ppl that would shoot 1000 yards use 30-378s… or bigger. thats what my one friends buddy uses.

i have handload data for near 3400 fps with 165 grains in the 300 ultra vs 3200 fps with the Weatherby.

both are good cartridges but the case capacity in the ultra is more than the weatherby. you can stick over 100 grains of powder in those Ultra cases. weatherby is more like mid 80s

not trying 2 be a azz here but that data is wrong we get 3400fps with the 300 wby with 165 gr hornady 95 plus gr of poweder.

its not how much goes in the case it is what is most afficent out of the cartidge.u have 2 have case as full as u can get it 2 be the best round.and 2 do that u have 2 play with dif powders 2 get the case as full as possablewith little case presure
