Ah ya. From what I remember, DELL was always hell to get drivers for.
Late fall, it is tied to the release of Ivy Bridge-E
I am a nix guy and I don’t like running Linux as a desktop OS. Give me a Mac first then windows second. I have found them to be continually buggy and annoying as fuck. Not to mention the lack of commercial software.
Your going to have fun if you downgrade to 7 from 8, you have to change the firmware to a insecure boot and then the hdd is lock on ctp so you can’t format it, it’s a big fucking mess
I know something things about computers…
UEFI wasn’t a big deal.
I’m saying on a branded computer it’s a big deal on a custom built one its not a big deal, I’m still fighting this issue, customer was picked out a nice desktop and we both didn’t realize it came with 8 I said shouldn’t be a problem downgrading to 7. Stupid me should of researched this before hand, I’m at the point were I’m going to just call and have the computer replaced…
What are you taking about?
I got a brand new computer from HP it has UEFI enabled it came with windows 8 I then installed win 7 and Linux then win 8 again
Disable Secure Mode -> Set UEFI to legacy mode -> Reinstall Windows 7 and attempt find drivers…
I just did this with a HP Envy desktop no issues and it only shipped with Win8.
You know something things about computers?
UEFI can be a hassle depending on the brand, from something things I’ve dealt with. One something thing we can all agree on…fuck win 8?
I actually really enjoy it now that I disabled the Metro interface…
It’s way faster then 7, more secure, new task manager is sweet…
Task manager is pretty killer. And without metro it’s very much like 7 again with some speed benefits.
When are we going shooting our rubber band guns BTW?
It won’t allow to install 7 as its a ctp format hdd it’s really fucking weird
I am going to reiterate the WTF are you talking about, there are only two possible partition tables Windows will see it is MS-DOS and GUID (also refered to as GPT). Windows 8 will always default to GPT since UEFI was designed for it. Windows 7 should have zero issues installing to GPT on a UEFI bios.
Fucking phone! Gtp is what I meant, I deleted all the partions and tried to install 7 no luck
