Anyone use a tablet and boot a desktop linux OS? I am looking at them but would want something more practical such as a tablet that can boot Windows and Linux or just run Linux so I can make it useful
There is nothing practical about running a desktop OS on a tablet. Ubuntu is only linux distro with a skin in the tablet game but Unity Touch is still very much alpha software.
Surface is your only option that still gives you a desktop.

I think I was more looking for what tables people had that they installed it on. It seems some protect your boot that you really have no direct hardware access so wanted to see what was out there.
Surface rt or pro is awesome
Do you own one? How big did you buy? I like them but they get way up there with price when you want one with a usable hard drive. I have been looking at the 128 or 256 one.
Asks about Linux tablet then discusses surface lol
You can rip the OS off Surface. The hardware is pretty solid from the line of others out there. Figure it would be the best start. I would buy a surface pro 2 in a second if they had the ability to remote play games off my Xbox
I plan on buying 2x of the 32gb rt and just stuffing larger memory cards in. but my mom got a 64gb rt all the belle and whistles, and it’s flat out awesome, you can totally expand with it too, micro sd slot, USB etc. IMO it’s worth the price.
You can install Linux on them…
