n20- where is embry riddle located? how long is their program? what do they offer?

Embry Riddle is in Daytona Florida. Google their website. They offer everything aviation. Pilot, mechanic, Air traffic control, Yadda yadda. the campus itself is on the Daytona Airport property (I think). Or pretty damn close, like you cross the street.

My sister graduated from there.

I was a Passenger on Mercy flight before. Theres nothing in this world thats like flying in a Helicopter.! Was awsome, Hoping to do it again this year.

I did 1,600 hours in one of the worlds most powerful and fastest helicopters. Its so addictive, and worth all the BS of the military to play with toys of that caliber

whats the difference between part 61 and 141?
what program are you taking at embry riddle? have you heard anything about the florida regional airline academy?

i tried calling you a few days ago but you didnt answer

thanks for the help

i found a couple online pilot message boards, some good information and might be helpful for some people who are interested

http://www.pilotjourney.com/forum/

Sorry i missed your call, if you try again i should be in. If you go to www.aopa.org or www.pilotsofamerica.com and go the the forums there is some good info there. I can say that you should not go to a “pilot factory” you can ID these places if they have a set price, like 4,500 and 30 days PPL, thats BS and you will pay more. 61 means that you study on your own, and just do the flight training, 141 means you go threw a set prgram, with 40 hours ground instuction, and 35 of flight instruction. The 141 is a bit more expensive, but almost needed if your not from an aviation background. Embry Riddle has a distance learning program, you do the course work online, and do your flight training locally. Its the best deal going, and about 1/4 the price of going to the campus, with the same degree. (120,000 if you go to the campus in Daytona)

My buddy is at Embry Riddle. Hes actually Army ROTC, but for some reason is spending all his time in the air, haha. He wants to be Inel though,

I’m pretty sure that Embry has the biggest ROTC of them all, I hope he’s on a scholarship, cause if you have to make payments on 120,000 on army pay, you will never be able to buy a house. Mabe the dark side can sway him to go Aviation, all the cool guys are pilots.

Haha yeah, full ride on taht ROTC scholarship. He loves flying, he said, but for some reason hes hell bent on Army.

I’d love to learn how to fly, my Uncle has an airfield out in CO and has been big in the experimental stuff for years. He was doing the G200 stuff and aerobatics compitions for a long time. I love going up in small craft.

The army has helicopters, which is where i’m going back to in about a year, the good thing about the army is that you can get your job in writing, officers included. Many people go in the airforce to fly, and few do. They will sucker you in signing with the airforce, the plant you in a desk for 20 years. I’ll put up with the army BS if i can fly a few hours a week.

hey thanks for the help n20

off topic, i have bad vision (i use glasses or contacts) what is the armys policy on poor vision and helicopter piloting?

i would love to fly an apache, do they allow pilots to get the laser corrective surgery?

i really want to fly for the air force but they are teh ghay when it comes to laser vision correction

BUMP

My flying club is looking for members. We’re currently based out of Prior Aviation @ Buffalo Niagara International. We fly a 1980 172P. After the initiation fee costs are $90/hr fuel included, monthly dues depend on membership, currently $90/month.

Any prerequisites to get into this?

The only one I can think of would be passing a TSA background check to get ramp access at prior.
