I didn’t see the SON accident, but I did get nailed by a big piece of plywood on the way to Bing’s meet that was kicked up by a 240 infront of me. I now know to keep a larger distance behind a RWD 
we’ve had a few accidents… i was in two myself and then Tim busted up his mom’s miata on Sasha’s trailer and the year before than Adam Jantos cracked up his sil-face on teh rear of Ted’s coupe.
its an assumed risk… obviously its ghey this stuff happens, unfortunately.
it doesnt appear as though anyone was really messing around, from what i see it was some guy who bought an S14 w/ SR and just locked up the brakes and rear ended a dude… its about as innocent an accident as can be considering you have a whole group of 240sx owners cruising together.
if you cant handle the risk involved then you really shouldnt get involved in that type of thing. if i remember correctly i didnt even bat an eye when i wrote off my coupe… theo was there… it was my fault, i knew it, why cry? just suck it up and start over.

I agree you do take a risk on a cruise, but you shouldn’t have to worry any more than driving in a regular group of traffic on the road if you’re on a cruise.

The first SON meet I ever attended there was a 4 car pile up. This was 5-6 years ago, back when Adam Hutchinson and Phil from Kingston would organize most the meets. We used to cruise up to the Forks of Credit which had a great mountain run. And as usual, before we took off for the cruise, everyone would be warned not to do stupid stuff. The first time I went up a S13 slammed into the back of a stopped car, resulting in the 4 car pile up. The next year some guy from Ottawa slammed his car into wall on the mountain run. I always get nervous going up to the cruise meets, but they are a bit more organized these days.
Wow, thinking back to those days, I remember the only turbo car was Adam Hutchinson’s red S13 powered by a KA24E. Phil from Ottawa dropped a turbo on his KA24DE the next year. But back then, there absolutely no SR20’s at all. Funny how things have come so far.
