Purchasing your gas supply from National Fuel for this period would have cost $4.66 less than from your Supplier.

ECA cost me a little more than National Fuel in the past year but not enough that I’m going to switch considering they’ve consistently been cheaper over all the prior years.

Please do, appreciate it!

Mine has not gone up much either YOY to change, but that $29 increase really happened since 2016 started. If this continues through the remainder of 2016 it would make me change. I just called EC of America and simply asked what was causing the increase, initial rude response was “just give me your account number and ill just put you back to NFG”.
From what I can find out ECNY is still offering market rates and NFG is just undercutting market rates which in the long run will not last.

Current rate is .2340 - just got off the phone with them. It is variable but it will always be below National Fuel prices

I’m more curious how @Tbirdsc1 managed to use $158 in gas in March on a record warm winter.

That is actually a but higher than what the ECNY rate has been the past 5 months (FY16 rates on bottom of chart)

Haha yes believe me when I got the bill I was in shock, until I saw “ESTIMATED” under the read type. We did actually put in a natural gas wall hanging garage heater in our 3.5 car garage so I knew in April the actual read (plus variance from estimate) would be up a little but its been a negligible increase at best. Pulling my Raptor into a 65 degree garage to work on it when its 20 outside, so worth it.
Our avg monthly bill for the past year was 65.xx, I will not complain on heating costs when they are that low to heat 3600 sqft to a constant 71.

Yeah, their estimate system has had a hell of a time figuring out that I replaced a bunch of windows and swapped out my ancient furnace for a modern 95% efficient one. Every estimate this winter has been WAY over my actual usage when they take a reading the next month. It will balance out eventually I’m sure.

I have a couple vacant rentals that i’m keeping on 50 degrees. it was really cold and they occupied last winter. My actual bills are $35 and the estimates are $170 ish. Most annoying system ever. I even asked them to adjust the estimates and they refuse.

For me it’s not a big deal, I get a high bill one month then a super low bill the next month when they take a reading and have to adjust. It’s always every other bill where they estimate.

So I just got a letter from National Fuel Resources and my new agreement is month to month - Monthly NYMEX natural gas price + 0.059 per CCF

Bump… not much for savings with CoOp in 2017.

2021 bump

Called and canceled my service with Energy Coop today. Paid $41 more last year with them than I would have just buying straight from National Fuel. They were only lower 1 month out of 12.

And before you go “how the hell did you spend $123.50 in July on natural gas!?”… The pool had a bad leak and we were constantly refilling it and then re-heating it. :grimacing: Thankfully the leak has been fixed.

This is the site if you want to do a comparison:

To switch back you have to call Energy Coop and have them switch you back because National Fuel can’t do it.

I left them after I moved last year, saw the savings go away in my last year at our old house and knew it wouldn’t be worth renewing.

Isn’t Josh Allen selling something like this? I think I’ve seen him on billboards related to an energy supplier.
