Sorry should have specified, this was my NYSEG electric bill and summary at the top shows ECA charges that are pretty much double what I’m used to. I don’t think we used that much electric in this past billing cycle, but this is easily the largest electric bill I’ve had in years. I rarely pay attention to what’s actually on the bill, just the amount this time is what drew me in.
Is electric still showing a small savings or not at all anymore?
I would check if the past few months were estimated and this month was actual, as the estimates can be off pretty big sometimes. Next check for extension cords running from your house to your neighbor, you may have signed up for the ECA share plan
Has anybody hear about National Fuel Resources? Can’t find many reviews except for the ones on BBB. I can get a fix rate of .381/ccf
:bump: Friend of mine got suckered into Ambit by his “friend” who is a rep with them. Last month his bill was over $70 more than what national fuel would have been.
Ooof…My latest bill was pretty reasonable considering it’s been cold as fuck.
Our bills have been very reasonable this year and these temps, highest being last month @ $151.xx (which was 223 CCF).
Heating 3600 sq ft and keeping it 71-72 constantly (work from home, and also 2 & 4 yr old) I will never complain about my heat or electric bill.
 to ECNY, always saving $'s
Just got my new rate locked in .3736
bump. is there a link to enroll for this still. or whats the latest and greatest thing to go through for utility bills?
thanks,
Mike
Details, with who and how long is that locked for? That’s a solid rate, blows away ECNY 2014 but close to 2015 rates so far.

Goes to show how poorly insulated my 1,200 sq. ft. house is. This was for the month of February.
thank you!
How is ECNY with electricity?
National Fuel Resources and for 1 year. I would be notified 3 months before the expire of my contract of the new locked in rate and can decide if I want to stay or go elsewhere. I noticed that the ccf prices are going down but gas prices are back on the rise. It will be interested to see what happens for 2015. I am thinking of switching from National Grid because the energy prices have since double from 2014 and is crazy!!
Bumping this up, how did you learn about them and get this rate? I’m closing on my house soon and will need to set up gas for the first time in my life lol. Heat’s always been included in my rent in the apartments I have lived in.
My wife’s employer (school) uses this company for gas.
Hey just looking for comparable updates from anyone else using Energy Coop of America instead of National Fuel/Grid?
I just ran a comparison and if I had purchased my gas supply from National Fuel for the last year I would have saved $42.72 instead of going through ECA. I switched in April of last year, and the first 5 months was even across both. Now it’s leaning towards National Fuel being cheaper by $15/mo so far this year.
Looking at National Grid for the same comparison time frame, I have saved $22.41 by switching to Energy Coop of America.
Any thoughts, or other comparisons from anyone available?
Over the last 12 months ECA has cost $7.69 more than National fuel but that difference happened in the last 4 months.
ECA $604.61
National fuel $596.92

Wow, I’ve had ECNY for many years and was always a greats savings…haven’t compared rates since this time last year. Some of the months in 2015 it was close to 30% higher, not too happy to see that.
Did this work out good for you? Know you said you locked in .3xxxx for a year. What was the re-up rate the following year?
Still the same. They don’t have an online interface. I will take a picture of my next bill.
