Just got my letter in the mail yesterday, my NFG savings were 6.9% or $88. If you havent signed up for this, take the 5-10 minutes and quit being lazy…lol
Will they be doing the similar thing for electrical savings as well?

Unfortunately, no. The electric savings are rather small, which probably only amount to $15-20/year on average for most customers.
I found another supplier that may be worth it. I’m going to switch for a month to see the differences, but they promise 1% cheaper than anyone.
Can someone toss me up their National Grid cost for KWH in their December bill? Mine was 4.157 cents in December. National Fuel for December was 0.51345 per CCF.
I need someone to compare in Jan/Feb to see if this new supplier is actually cheaper. If it is, I’ll post up the link.
I just received my 2011 ECA gas savings report (I have service through National Fuel).
I saved 6.85% or $90 for the year.
The savings for first two months of 2012 have been phenomenal.
January 2012 - 20.9%
February 2012 - 25.1% (thats a $0.14/ccf difference in savings) In the winter I usually use around 200ccf, so that will be almost $30 in that bill alone.
I have to wait until March 1st to see my new supplier numbers. I just got my final bill with ECA, so the next month will show me my new numbers.
Hopefully you and I can compare our Feb/March bills to see which is charging more Perhaps my new supplier will be cheaper… as they’re national, rather than local, but also a Coop. (crosses fingers)
Sounds good, I will be impressed if they beat 25%. Who is this new supplier and is it free like ECA, or do they add a charge somewhere in the bill?
I ended up saving 61 dollars last year, but my usual winter bill is only around 100-150 dollars anyways. Good deal.
7% savings last year with ECA over NFG… 21% and 25% savings so far in the first two months of 2012 :tspry: They are down to 43.9 cents/ccf.
Just had a salesman visit from EnergyMark. Anybody hear of them or deal with them? I guess they are a new local supplier offering variable and fixed rate programs. Salesman is telling me I can be saving 20-30%. I call B.S. on that…
I’ve got someone here at work that has a part time gig for ambit energy… can anyone speak to them? Seems like the same sort of program.
Just an FYI, NFG has started to provide an online savings report for all residential customers purchasing their energy from a third party supplier. I’m showing the average savings over the last 12 months to be about 12% for ECA customers.
For those purchasing their energy from someone other than ECA, this will allow you to see how your bills compared to the utility.
You will need your 7 digit account number, billing zip code and the last name of the person on the bill, or the 9 digit account number and billing zip.
Here is the NFG Online Savings Comparison Link
I viewed a group presentation for Ambit last month. Multi level marketing group but I did some research and you should do the same. Customer service does not appear to be a strong point.
Bump, anyone else using Energy Cooperative of America see huge charges this month? My most recent bill showed charges from them that are about double what they normally are. I’ve never had this occur before so I was curious if anyone else had some insight.
Been using them for years now, took a look at my bills but didn’t notice any increased charges. Is that a National Fuel or NYSEG bill you are talking about, or another provider and what charge looks doubled?
The last Year with Energy Corp. America.

^ Yep, saved me $49.50 last year.
My gas bill isn’t high at all anyways but $30 is $30. My house is 1400sq ft and I keep my heat around 72-74 during the winter all day every day. I still have single pain windows, you can feel the cold as you walk by them. I have a 90% high efficiency furnace and the water tank and dryer are gas.
Do the single pain windows give you akes and panes?
blah (pane)
Though ECA was more in Feb and March for some reason.
