anyone get google chrome yet?

Are you the google?!

OMG THE BETA VERSION HAS BUGS

yep…sticking with maxthon.

omg lol… i didn’t realize its version 0.2 lol

the task manager is pretty cool… It also has in line spell checking  I would shoot myself if it didn’t

Our sentiments exactly.

IMO, it seems way faster than FF3

edit: definitely a little bit buggy

thats just how FF 2 was when it was in beta, it doesn’t have to load half the shit

yeah, thats true. It just almost died trying to load a youtube video

also looks pretty akward on the screen since everything has a different theme

is there a home button that could bring me back to that initial screen with the tile of recent pages?

i am impressed with it. very fast on javascript/ajax pages.

tested it with our SSL vpn and a range of other sites. also the interface looks really cool.

really would like to see the development base for this and if it will catch up with FF

i think you can just open a new tab… from what i’ve seen… Idk about having the tab open and going back to it though…

I think its strong point was suppose to be Java script… I read some lame comic about it… and thats what it was emphasising … But its written for computer idiots so i got pissed at the comic and closed it

i like it so far, nice and fast and not a memory hog. bug the lack of addons and plugins is annoying me at work cause half our pages dont work now

Pretty much my experience right now as well. Fast. Faster than FF3. Doesn’t handle in page video exceptionally well. Has a lockup when coming off of full screen during a video playback. Takes 10-15 seconds to come back to responsive. Some minor issues with rendering, plugins, etc.

So far a decent start but far from ready.

I find it comical how the personalized Google homepage doesn’t load correctly with Chrome.

Firefox:

Chrome:

it looks cool

Something is messed up on your homepage. My page has tons of stuff and feeds and it loads fine. Even faster loading too.

The browser is going to change the way people use the web eventually. They waited to release it and came out with a better way to optimize their services since a browser is what people need. Ya, its buggy sometimes but know that there was no public beta for this. Google used their own infastructure and crawling technology to bombard it with pages to verify that “most” worked correctly. When people find bugs and submit them, it will only help the browser get better. Early IE and Firefox days sucked too but the community was what helped it along and made it into what it is today.

Pretty soon Google Labs will have plugins, the bugs will be fixed, and the browser will be optimized but until then, its just a work in progress. It is a step in a right direction. I have a few heavy AJAX sites that choked in FF and IE sometimes but run smoother in Chrome.

FF3 workin fine for the time being… I’ll wait for a few more versions to come out and all the bs to get worked out before I consider making the change

Hey did anyone bother reading the EULA when you installed it?

By submitting, posting or displaying the content you give Google a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free, and non-exclusive license to reproduce, adapt, modify, translate, publish, publicly perform, publicly display and distribute any content which you submit, post or display on or through, the services. This license is for the sole purpose of enabling Google to display, distribute and promote the services and may be revoked for certain services as defined in the additional terms of those services."

"Some of the services are supported by advertising revenue and may display advertisements and promotions. These advertisements may be targeted to the content of information stored on the services, queries made through the services or other information.

The manner, mode and extent of advertising by Google on the services are subject to change without specific notice to you.

That browser has been uninstalled from my machine and will not be installed on any machine that I control until that EULA is changed.

Read other browsers and sites EULA. Not much different. Google isnt gonna collect what websites you visit and use that information. That EULA is on all their products. If you submit info, they have the right to index it and use it how they want but still have privacy policies.

Facebook has the same agreement that people don’t care to realize. Any information you post on there about your intrests, favorite movies, yourself, location, age, etc they own and can sell to marketing companies and basically do anything with. One reason why me and a few friends stopped devloping for Facebook apps was becuase they claim rights to almost anything and can basically come into an app and say “We like your idea. We are gonna code it ourselves into the next version of Facebook and we wont pay you”

Maybe you should start reading them for most of the sites/services/products you use :lolham:
