Anyone had experience with Mike O ford?

Hey guys,

Has anybody bought a car from Mike O ford in batavia.

They have a preowned import i’m looking to buy, was just wondering if anyone had dealt with them, and what their experience was.

the tt s4?

haha no not the S4.

Something 4 cylinder, a little cheaper, and basically a import econobox in every sense of the word.

too bad the s4 looks sweet

I’ve had some unpleasant dealings. I am not a fan and unimpressed by that facility

Their prices seem very good, but I’ve never purchased anything there. If the car you’re looking at doesn’t have a warranty doesn’t really matter what the dealer is like. Make sure you check it out well and if the price is right buy it. Most you’re going to get from even a “great” dealer is 30 days or so if the factory warranty is up, at which point any dealer is going to tell you to suck it if something goes wrong.

too bad that s4 is autotragic

:word:

A friend from school was looking at fbodys/stangs to buy a few years ago, and found a trade-in 97 Trans Am at Mike O. He had numerous emails with them setting up a time on the weekend to come check it out / test drive.

We get there and I start looking over the car for him. The sales guy seems nervous when he asked my friend “is he a mechanic?” But the car seemed clean enough, so it comes time for the test drive. All of a sudden it became “If you get in, I’ll drive you around the block in it…O no, we cant let YOU actually drive the car…etc” So I ask him why he would possibly think anyone would drive out to batavia on a weekend and buy a car they couldnt test drive, and he tells me “because its way too fast”. :banghead:

So I laugh in his face and say “Just because it will smoke the mustangs on your lot, doesnt mean its fast stock. If I wanted a joyride, Id use my own car, stop wasting my time” and I walked out. They spent a few more minutes bullshitting my friend about how they had another buyer and thats why he couldnt drive it but apparently could still steal the sale back if he wanted to buy that day, blah blah until he finally gave up and walked out too. Pathetic.

They toss a Jesus fish at the bottom of their ads by their phone number. That is enough reason for me not to buy a car there.

Their ebay feedback is based largely on a bunch of 19 dollar tommy hilfiger shirts that the owner bought.

See, that story is a plus for me. For every pair of young kids who walk in with real intent to purchase 20 more walk in with the intent to joyride and beat on a car they will never buy. Hell, this forum is full of posts of guys “test driving” cars with no real intent to purchase.

I’d rather buy from a dealer like that than one who lets any kid walk in and take a car out to go do clutch dumps for 20 minutes.

I understand your idea, but its not like we strolled in unannounced looking to beat on it without a salesman in the car. The stupid thing was 3 seconds slower in a 1/4 than my winter car, and it was obvious to them that I knew these cars well. It was a pre-arranged time to do exactly what they then wouldnt let us do.

Wasting over an hour of my time lying to us about the test drive after it was already arranged, arguing in front of the other customers, and giving us the fabricated story about ‘another buyer’ is not what I would be looking for in a dealership. Immature and pathetic are the only words I can use to describe them.

^^ uhhh… the dealer was prolly smart to not let u test drive it.

it would have come back with a destroyed rear, random leaks, bald tires, and somehow some quick bolt ons and nitrous abuse!

dang…that ad still ringing in my head when i read your post… :smash2:

check out Simmon-Rockwells in dansville. They have the best prices on fords around. My dad has orderd 3 fords there. And we noticed they have prices listed lower then deals you work out around a city. Deffentaly cheack them out.

Edit- I see your looking at a used car now. Sorry this dont really help.

Heard others complain about unsolicited credit checks when looking at cars - something that would put some marks on a credit rating, I guess…

i’m with Mark. Did we read the same story? See his response for my feelings, as well.

Individuals > dealers.

Congrats, it only took you 4 months to find this post funny. :hang:
