If so, please PM me. I would like to see if you can help me out… I need a certified weight slip of it. I will pay for gas, or if you dont mind come pick it up with our truck, drive with you and the trailer to the nearest weigh station and bring you and the trailer back. Also toss in some beer money too if you would like.
Is it possible to do what people do with ATV’s over 1000lbs and strip it down till it weighs under a grand and then get it weighed, or is it way over the 1000lb mark?
homebuilt trailers under 1000lbs you just fill out a form, show recipt for materials and a weight slip. Hand it to the DMV, pay your dues and they hand you a registration, plates, and the VIN tag you weld to the frame somewhere.
over 1000lbs, its a trip to the dmv, get temp tags, and set up an inspection appt (week to month out). drive it to the inspection guy, hope he doesnt fail you, then go back to the dmv with the pass paperwork and get your tags and vin.
its a pain in the ass, and why most either do what i am doing, or do it through Maine with a “power of attorney” form and middle man/company to get plates and reg.
as for the quads, thats a whole new ball game I am not familiar with.
thats for assumption of another persons identity not registering a trailer.
and I am not assuming a white trash murdering skanks identity, she just wants to register it and then sell it to me. Perfectly legit transaction, i dont know what you are talking about.
Gotchya didn’t know it was a homemade trailer. Still its the difference between a title and a transferable reg. And everyone knows a transferable makes life a ton easier.
I looked at that too. but it seems like a pia to get it started. and it looks like if you wanted to sell it, you really cant. so the new buyer needs to go through the hassle again too.
I would like to sell it at some point too, and get a better one maybe.
