Is it worth doing?
I was thinking crane or crower. Something that will make power across the RPMs

alot of the guys like the crower 404, they say anything less isnt worth it. but as far as putting them on a stock head with a stock intake and throttle body i dont know if a cam that big will benifit you. but heres a pretty good post on all motor LS build ups
The head is ported. I bored out the throttle body to 60mm. And installed the old throttle plate from my mustang.

yea u pretty much are goin to need springs and retainers if u wanna run a nice cam…

Because more horsepower is never enough.

not really worth just dropping cams in an LS unless the bottom end is built too…9:1 compression isnt goin to do much for NA cams

Sorry the head is shaved. The compression properly isn’t that hi. Maybe 9.8
Crower’s dyno 18 – 21 HP with stock compression. They have normal mods H/I/E.
Are they full of shit?
I rev. my LS over 6.5 all the time. The cam drops of at around 6.5 to 7000. Should be perfect.

The machine shop was afraid to take too much off. They took off the max. Aloud by the specs. I assume the compression is around 9.8:1
