I have a Verizon Blackberry 8830 World Edition Phone I’m trying to fix, and the major problem with the phone is the USB port is broken, which means it’s not possible to charge the phone. I’d need help soldering it, would be down to drive to you and put 20 bucks in your pocket. Please PM me if you’re interested to help. I just ordered the part, so next week or some we could meet up. brett (neurokinetik) used to do delicate work like this… sodlering a USB port shouldnt be a big deal, sicne there are no components that need to be heat sinked or can be burned out

if I still work at electronics company where I had access to a metcal I would be able to. I can hand solder fine pitch quads I don’t think a simple usb connector would be hard to remove. Is it surface mount or thru hole?

If you’re decent at soldering, you can easily knock this out it appears. I just don’t think I have the skills to do it, I’m amateur at best.

I used to assemble boards at work under a microscope.
I have a soldering Iron with a fairly small tip as well.
