DIY USB Cable - tiny soldering help wanted

I have a little project that I want to do, but my soldering skills have earned me the nickname of “Solder Balls.” I tend to get impatient and just drip a ball of molten solder onto the connection and hope for the best. I completely understand HOW to solder correctly, it just never seems to work for me. Maybe it’s my tools. Anyway…

I have a little project that involves this:

The iRiver H10 doesn’t have a line-input jack unless you buy the cradle for ~$60 (discontinued and hard to find). Someone figured out all the pinouts for the cable, and has posted pretty good instructions for a DIY cable with line-in, and USB. I’d like to add a few more “heads” to that cable and include line-out, and DC power input.

Anyone interested and capable? Not willing to offer much cash, since that kinda defeats the whole DIY thing.

Solder Balls?! hahaha

If you were close by you could just drop it off here, I just picked up a new iron for doing small shit like this.

Where is “close by?”

I guess 14606 isn’t clear enough so I changed it.

I’m not opposed to driving to Rochester, or mailing parts and schematics…
